Today's storytelling.
Stepping out. And a real blast from the past from the universal comms team... Joe Jackson's 1982 song, "Steppin' out" https://youtu.be/Ez31-p-kAPQ The lyrics that jump out at me are : 'We...So tired of all the darkness in our lives, With no more angry words to say Can come alive' And... 'Me babe, steppin' out Into the light' An interesting theme there of stepping out of darkness into the light and away from anger into truly living life. Let's see how this threads through our cards today. First card out today is 0 The fool.... ah the call to adventure, the leap of faith. Stepping out... off of that cliff edge. It may be scary, it may be unknown, it may be exhilarating, exciting... we will never know unless we take the step. The fool has a childlike wonder and innocence, it could be said niaevity perhaps. And yet as the famous quote by Lao Tzu states...'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. We have to simply trust, put our faith in a higher power or energy than ourselves and take that first step into the light of the new dawn and away from any darkness or anger. Our second card today is the page of pentacles (pentacles representative of the earth element and manifestation) our page is shown having taken that first tentative step upon a new path. New beginnings are underway. The words 'ice skating' come in like a cosmic fax. Ice skating is symbolic of graceful, free motion and the power and importance of inertia and balance. This is also an indication of a deep confidence in our ability to accomplish our goals, if we maintain our balance and embody grace in all undertaking. I'm drawn to the golden colour of our subjects trousers. To me this golden colour a symbol of working with groups and communities. Keeping our actions grounded in an intent of a loving and compassionate outcome for the greater good of the whole. Our final card today is the king of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and action) Wow, isn't he a powerful figure? We see the lion in the background. The meaning of the lion is strength and personal power. He has courage, self confidence and assertiveness. As a spiritual message, the lion brings with it the need to stop overstretching ourselves and to bring balance to all matters, he also reminds us to remain strong. Some interesting messages today, with themes of moving from darkness and anger, to love and light ( perhaps a new age cliché, yet a relevant phrase in the context of our cards and their story ) balance, compassion and community as we find ourselves 'steppin' out' #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful
