Today's storytelling.
At the centre is community. The first thing that came to mind when I turned over the hanged man once more was the song by Rainbow, I surrender https://youtu.be/iMmMqfQZkxA The opening bars of this song are like a crescendo of energy and this is the feeling I get today with our first card. The news will tell us that sadly we are about to move into the peak, or crescendo of our current situation. It's more important now than ever to surrender to any lingering resistance to following the official advice. We need to hang tight now, it almost feels that we are holding our breath as a nation, hoping that this will pass with the most hopeful of outcomes in a tragically difficult time. We are being held in a topsy turvy World of change , yet also healing. A repeating theme across previous storytelling. We cannot rush through this transformation, it unfolds to it's own rhythm. It does now present us with the time to view the World anew , from a whole new perspective. If we were even able to rush this experience, we would most probably just resume old habits and the profound lessons we are learning right now would not have had time to form into new positive habits. In our second card today the queen of pentacles , we see a woman sitting comfortably in an armchair, behind her she is supported in her comfort with a red cushion of safety and security. All of her needs are met. She is surrounded by trees that can be seen reaching out far into the distance. She holds an orange pentacle in her right hand, signifying the energy of the sacral chakra. This is the seat of new creation, zest, passion, purpose and gut instinct. Her arms are crossed and her eyes are closed in serene contemplation. Her eye lids are coloured with the most beautiful turquoise, spiritual growth and profound change is being seen in her inner world so that she may reflect this into the outer world. She wears an elaborate headscarf, again in a beautiful shade of turquoise. Her thoughts are also shifting . She has what appears to be a crown of antler type twigs, leaves and berries. She is truly connected to her surroundings, her place in the world and in her community. She knows that she is grounded, connected and protected. Maybe as we find our way through this, we will discover our own unique insights and understanding. We may feel more connected than ever before with our community. In our final card today, the page of pentacles makes another appearance, reminding us to keep strong and steady in the eye of the storm, to hold the balance beyond the tipping point . The patterns of the mandala show the page to be in the centre of a circle within a circle, within a circle. We are all connected now, each community, within each larger community and ultimately the global community. Each one of us makes a difference right now, I am reminded of the famous quote from William James, “Act as if what you do makes a difference, it does.” This is true today more than ever. “Together we can face any challenges as deep as the ocean and as high as the sky.” Sonia Gandhi.
