Today's storytelling.
Whoomp there it is. And what a blast from the past from the universal comms team today, reminding me of a team development day with my old Miss Selfridge crew at Drayton Manor ( you had to be there) .... It's Tag Team and "Whoomp! there it is" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gmn-XFGZws I'm guessing this is a suggestion of revealing something that wasn't seen before. Let's see shall we? First card out today is 16. The Tower. Today I'm drawn straight to the forked lightning. Lightning is a metaphor for human emotions such as: Fear, reverence, creativity and much more. Witnessing lightning has a tendency to churn up a whole range of internal reactions. In essence, lightning ignites our deeper selves. These bolts of energy can potentially tap into our most primal, basic emotions. The bolt of lightning is a traditional symbol of sudden illumination and the destruction of ignorance. Jung saw lightning as liberating the soul. Maybe uncovering a mystery then, perhaps like our theme tune today revealing something that wasn't seen before. Once revealed there is complete transformation. The light behind the tree almost looks like a whirlwind as I look at it now. The whirlwind describes a situation in which a lot of things happen very quickly and are very difficult for us to control. We see a squirrel in the foreground, the squirrel's cheerful activity is a reminder for us to play and enjoy life. Their propensity to hide acorns is a lesson in being prepared. The squirrel meaning is about surrendering and letting things happen, we have little control in any case so might as well be the observer. The acorns we see in the card are symbolic of strength and power, as well as hard work and perseverance. “The strongest oak of the forest is not the one that is protected from the storm and hidden from the sun. It’s the one that stands in the open where it is compelled to struggle for existence against the winds and rains and the scorching sun.” ~ Napoleon Hill. I guess this is suggesting that although there may be storms, we can stand strong in the face of whatever may come. The second card today is the 6 of cups ( cups representative of the water element and of feelings and emotions). A nostalgic card this one. The journey of a life stretching out across the card. This is a card of reflecting and learning from the journey, those things that give us warm fuzzy feelings and those things trigger old wounds. This is a perfect time to heal and grow from our life experiences. I'm drawn to the bright shinning stars in the background of the card today. The word 'Supernova' comes to mind. A supernova is a powerful and luminous stellar explosion, it is of course the death of a star. As the star explodes, chemical material created throughout the star's lifetime is blown off into space, eventually becoming part of new stars and planets. Not only does the debris create new life, but after eruption, the star's luminosity suddenly increases millions of times above its normal level. The star seems to be relating its life story: birth, growth, death, and even afterlife, in one pivotal moment. It could be a metaphor for our own journey, the idea of being put under great pressure to reveal a greater light. To reach the core, to uncover our essence, sometimes, we need to be challenged. Like the supernova, it can at times be painful; it but it then reveals the most amazing opportunity for us to shine brighter than ever before. Our final card today is the 3 of swords ( swords representative of air element and of thoughts and intellect). The words that come are "Shout, shout, let it all out" and an outpouring of thoughts and feelings follow. Whilst it can be an uncomfortable card to look at, it is in truth just a release of trapped thoughts and emotions, now being expressed to be transmuted and healed. ( think Whoomp there it is and supernova) The red of the heart is the colour of the base or root chakra, bringing us safety, security and a firm foundation. Where we were perhaps stuck in cycles of repeating thoughts, a bit like a cognitive hamster wheel, we can now release and let go. What we maybe had planned, the direction we were headed in before this unique time in our history may have changed beyond all recognition, we are now honouring the feeling of that disappointment perhaps, this is the opportunity to rise like a phoenix and create a new version an even better version of our life and way of being. New inspiration is on it's way. The phoenix represents transformation, death, and rebirth in it's fire. As a powerful spiritual totem, the phoenix is the ultimate symbol of strength and renewal ( just like those acorns). As both a fire and solar symbol, the phoenix animal guide is symbolic of the sun, which “dies” in setting each night only to be reborn in rising the next morning. So some strong themes of transformation today. Revealing that which is unseen to grow and evolve to an even greater version of ourselves and the world. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful

Today's storytelling.
Written in the stars. And great song from the universal comms team by Tinie Tempah featuring Eric Turner "written in the stars " Interesting as I just watched the latest astrology update from Pam Gregory, which is well worth a watch. https://youtu.be/3QyXq1Y1S_M Looking at the lyrics I notice: "Where the hells all the sanity at, damn I used to be the kid that no one cared about That's why you have to keep screaming 'til they hear you out Oh written in the stars A million miles away" Perhaps reminding us to remain level headed in order to be heard, that there is a bigger story at play here. Let's see how this shows up in our cards today. The first card today is the 9 of wands (wands representative of the fire element and action) I'm drawn straight to the halo around the flame today. A halo around the flame indicates an approaching storm and the woman in our card certainly looks like she is set and ready, with a defiant look on her face. She appears to me today to be in her guard. She is ready to be the light bearer and the wayshower. Light bearers are souls that reincarnate on the Earth generally as healers in order to help other people improve their lives. A wayshower is one who embodies the qualities that he or she wishes others to absorb and learn, who manifests these qualities in full measure so that the light that they carry can transfer to the consciousness of all who behold them. Wayshowers are often found within challenging times and challenging circumstances, for Divine intention seeds them there with the idea of helping others move forward through these times of turbulence by showing and offering a pathway through. Our second card today is the 3 of cups ( cups representative of the water element and of feelings and emotions) We see three woman looking heavenward, arm in arm. The look up at the stars above. We can see seven stars , the seven sisters of the paladies. Pleiadean energy is associated with building healthy communities, learning to live off the land in a harmonious way and creating a sense of love and belonging. The brightest star in the Pleiades is Alcyone and she is often viewed to be the female equivalent of Sirius. I spoke a lot about us being in the Sirius gateway at the weekend, at the same time as the full moon eclipse . Just like Sirius, Alcyone is a high vibrational star that is extremely powerful and potent. If we think of Sirius as our Spiritual Sun, Alcyone could almost be like our Spiritual Moon. In Greek, Alcyone means 'the queen who wards off evil storms'. Alcyone is also said to bring waves of feminine energy to Earth, It represents our ability to go with the flow, to listen and trust our intuition. Feminine energy is our ability to be patient and compassionate. The seven sisters are at their brightest and most energetically powerful in May and November maybe a timeline being suggested here. Our final card today is 9 The Hermit.... another 9. 9 relates to wisdom and responsibility and the ultimate goal of the number 9 is to serve humanity. This vibration has come to serve the world and make it a better place for all to live in. 9 represents human's 'earthly lesson', which is 'forgiveness'. Number 9 learns selflessness and compassion. It also represents karma and the universal spiritual laws. We see our subject in a place of introspection. She has found enlightenment and illumination. Her task now is to bring that awakened state back to her daily life. Everything has changed and is mutable and continually shifting. Holding her centre will require all of her acquired deep wisdom. The words "rise above the storm" come to mind. Which leads me to a song title of the same... https://youtu.be/-a_aGHpxPDM The lyrics are very interesting... "Get the energy up, spread it all around. Everybody's gonna get it, going through it right now. If you're patient, Everything will be okay. If you're persistent, Troubles will seem far away. Perseverance is the key To everything you achieve. Seek out the truth, Don't forget about what you believe. Rise above the storm, You can find what you, Have been looking for Climb above the clouds, You can be the one, To shout it out loud". It would appear today that we have message of strong Astrological Influence right through to November (and beyond) We are not yet out of the storm, yet we can rise above it if we can follow our intuition with love and compassion. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful In today's episode I'm joined by young entrepreneur Ethan Mercer who has created the conscious clothing brand WDYW and his collaboration with the MIND charity. We talk about his dreams, his own personal journey and he shares his top life tip. To find out more about Ethan's work visit: MIND x WDYW? Work . And from the universal comms team we have a song from Kelly Rowland and "Work" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uZczPvm4jk The lyrics that jump out at me today : No turning back from this party Put you through enough to come play Best take advantage, be all that you can be Best take advantage, see all that you can see Suggesting perhaps that after all we have been through and endured these past months, we had better put the work in, take the learning, take the lessons, and be the very best we can be. Let's see how this shows up in our cards for today... First out today is 20 Judgement. The word that comes with this card for me today is "release". It's the letting go of the old in simple terms. Letting go means having trust that things will get better. It means being brave to move forward to get to where we want to be. Letting go means accepting the things we can't change and doing something about the things we can. “The only thing a person can ever really do is keep moving forward. Take that big leap forward without hesitation, without once looking back. Simply forget the past and forge toward the future.” – Alyson Noel Kind of follows on from the appearance of The fool yesterday doesn't it? Our second card today is the 3 of pentacles ( pentacles representative of the earth element and of manifestation) We see three people working together to create a beautiful piece of macrame. In my research I was drawn to the symbology of the letters in the word Macrame ( From name echo): 'M' holds the vibration of concentration on the end results of our work. The karma of 'A' is linked to ambitious ideas and being inspired by new discoveries. C can become fixated by ideas and in all likelihood will demonstrate a more practical than emotional position. With 'R' resonating with the intensity of the number 9, it is considered to be driven by peace, in whatever forms this may come up. Within the 'A' there is a yearning for creating opportunities for ourselves and those dear to us. In an unbalanced state, the 'M' is very erratic, prone to conflict and holding grudges. The effect of 'E' may come across as complicated in a group of people or in the wider community, offering many recommendations, when in truth all they wish for is offer a helping hand. Quite interesting, if you consider this in the context of our story. I guess the message is how do we all work together harmoniously, with our many quirks and different ideas of the way forward? Perhaps it is in the collective assets of the whole we can achieve something beautiful and amazing. It just takes us to recognise the many differences as gifts to be celebrated. Our final card for today if the ace of wands, ( wands representative of the fire element and action) With a little research I discover that the net around the head of our subject is representative of "Indra's net". Indra’s Net symbolises the universe as a web of connections and interdependencies among all its members, wherein every member is both a manifestation of the whole and inseparable from the whole. The net is said to be infinite, and to spread in all directions with no beginning or end. At each node of the net is a jewel, so arranged that every jewel reflects all the other jewels. No jewel exists by itself independently of the rest. Everything is related to everything else; nothing is isolated. Each jewel of Indra’s Net includes the reflections of all the other jewels; the significance of this symbolism is that each entity in the universe contains within itself the entire universe. This idea, rather than positing interdependence among separately existing entities, asserts that the whole does not owe its existence to the coming together of individual parts that have independent existence. Indeed, the existence of each individual part is contingent upon, and relative to, the existence of the whole and of all the other parts. Yet, paradoxically, each individual part also ‘contains’ the whole within itself. Put simply, the whole and the parts are inseparable. A beautiful card then to follow on from the 3 of pentacles today, another reminder that in simple terms we are all part of the greater whole and the greater whole if a part of each and every one of us. We are one. And one are we. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
The world in our hands. Blimey the universal comms team have dug into the archives today ... with a song from Laurie London "He's got the whole world in his hands"... I'm transported back to infant school assembly for this one. This version is way before my time though with a 1958 rendition. https://youtu.be/cqb3NSiSwoc As the title implies, the song is suggests that God/ creator/ universe/ higher power ( insert your own preference) is in control of all aspects of creation and we should take comfort in his/ her/ their presence. From the birds in the air and the fish in the sea to "little bitsy babies" and grown-up gamblin' men, everything is in the hands of a greater influence. Of course there's a religious connotation to this well known song, however in the context of our storytelling today , it perhaps implies that there are things we can effect and things that outside of our influence or control and that as long as we do our bit ( the bit we can influence) then we can take comfort in the knowledge that we are doing and being all that we can in any given moment and circumstance, all else we can only let go and let God/ creator/universe/ higher power ....( add your own word) .... handle the rest. Let's see what our cards add to this thought. First out today is 0 The Fool. Leaning over that cliff edge we can see this young woman is on the cusp of a new beginning, ( see the seeds of life down below?) all it takes is a leap of faith.... a nice little seamless link perhaps to today's soundtrack? She holds a beginners mind. Curious and open to all possibilities, not yet hindered by conditioning or doubt. She holds an amethyst point in her hand. Amethyst is known as one of the master crystals when it comes to spirituality. It is a powerful protection stone creating a bubble around the carrier, warding off negative energy. Amethyst assists in encouraging our growth towards our higher potential and spiritual expansion. It also brings peace, insight and calmness. Perhaps suggesting that although we find ourselves at the point of stepping out into the unknown ( that void again) , not knowing if we will fall or be held in saftey ....we have to hold faith that all will be well, as we move forward in this next chapter. Our second card today is the queen of wands.( wands representative of the fire element and action) She holds the spark in her hand , she's ready to step into her purpose. She is choosing love over fear, it's a time for bold action. It's he time to shine that's for sure, her passion is palpable. She's ready to create some magic. As we step out over that cliff edge , we are in new uncharted territory, it's going to call on all of our creativity, inspiration, purpose and passion. We might not get it spot on from the get go, yet we're asked to give it our best regardless. Our final card today is a return of the king of wands. He's the ultimate visonary , an entrepreneurial leader, charismatic with a strong presence in the world. Wow what a combination the fool and both the queen and king of wands.... get ready for a new compelling vision folks, we are in for an adventure and there's no doubt. Turning dreams and ideas into almost immediate action, this is going to be a very interesting time ......maverick....yes, quite possibly .... well let's be honest... most definitely. That void just became a Time warp... thrusting us forward faster than we imagined possible. It's like we just stepped into a vortex , like the ones in star trek and old space movies.... one that moves us through time and space at the speed of light. Interesting times ahead, best buckle up ! #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Connection. And from the universal comms team, another new song to me One Republic and "Connection" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFyR8VWImhQ Some very interesting lyrics with this one.... "These days my waves get lost in the oceans Seven billion swimmers, man I'm going through the motions Sent up a flare, I need love and devotion Traded for some faces that I never know, notion Maybe I should try to find the old me Take me to the places and the people that know me Tryin' to disconnect, thinking maybe you could show me If there's so many people here, then why am I so lonely? Can I get a connection? I'm just tryin' to paint the picture for me Something I could give a damn about at maybe 40 Years and I be ready and willing and able to edit the story 'Cause there's so many people here to be so damn lonely Can I get a connection?" A strong feeling from these lyrics of a message of needing a greater more meaningful connection both with ourselves and between us all here on planet Earth perhaps? So let's see how this threads through our cards today, all from the major arcana! First out today is 17 The star, this is especially interesting as we are in the energy of not only the lunar eclipse early tomorrow morning, but also the Sirius gateway. Every year during the first week of July, a sacred gateway of energy is activated between Earth and the star Sirius, bringing heightened vibrations and spiritual advancements, a time where all of humanity can raise their levels of consciousness. At this time, the Sun and the Earth are the furthest away from each other, making way for the energy of another to be thrust into the limelight. This star shines 23 times brighter than our own Sun and is known as Sirius or Earth’s “Spiritual Sun”. Sirius has long been revered by many ancient cultures and was believed to be the gateway to heaven. In Ancient Egypt, Sirius was considered to be the star of the goddess Isis, who ruled over death and rebirth. Sirius itself holds the energy of freedom and is all about expanding our awareness so we can let go of limitations. So in our card we can see a woman looking heavenward towards the brightest star in the sky, could this be Sirius I wonder? It feels a time of advancement in our consciousness and connection to universal energy..... Take a closer look at the card... what do you see? ;) Our second card today is 6 The Lovers. Now there's a depiction of soulful connection if ever you needed one. The film Avatar comes to mind today with this card. If you've never seen this film, it may be one for the watch list this weekend, a truly beautiful film, with I believe, a deeper message. Within this storyline we witness the depiction of a spiritually interconnected eco-system, the story revealsthat the goal of the Mother Goddess is not to “take sides” in any war, but to “protect only the balance of life.” Hmmm... interesting.... I'm also drawn to the Merkaba in between the two people, I've mentioned this before, but if this is a first-time read then I'll give you a little more insight. The Merkaba, translates literally to light, spirit, body. The Merkaba Symbol is a shape made of 2 intersecting tetrahedrons that spin in opposite directions, creating a 3-dimensional energy field. We can activate this vehicle of light around our own body with practiced meditation and breathing techniques. The merkaba is said to provide protection and transport our consciousness to higher dimensions. The merkaba shape reminds us of the potential power we can wield when we unite our own energies in pursuit of connection and growth. ( there's that connection word again). Our final card today is 15 The Devil. I know many folk don't like to see this card, but as I've said many times there are no good or bad cards, they all have duality weaved within them. What I do notice today, is the figure in the bottom right-hand corner of the card. What do you notice about him? Yep he's wearing what looks like a face mask and gloves.... seem familiar? Also do you notice those strings he's attached to? Hmm he's the puppet and we see the puppeteer pulling on those strings. We also notice that he's holding his head... maybe suggesting that his thoughts are the real challenge here. I wonder what his conditioned response is saying to him ? It is in the darkness that we are truly free to heal. And as the full moon is about to be thrust into the darkness of the lunar eclipse, maybe this is the perfect time to cleanse and clear all of those habits, limiting beliefs and old patterns that are holding us in a place of fear, limitation and unhelpful thinking patterns. The Devil card today is actually inviting us to step into that void ( I wrote about this yesterday)so that we can break free of the chains that bind us, in order that we can illuminate those things that hold too much sway over our attention and find a deeper, more healthy, soulful and meaningful connection with both ourselves and the World that we inhabit. Well some strong threads of connection today in our storytelling. It does seem like we are standing at the edge of a choice point moment. We are perhaps being gifted the perfect alignment of energies to clear, cleanse and connect at a more truly evolved level than ever before. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Into the valley. And I'm transported back to my youth by the universal comms team, with a song from The Skids "Into the Valley" a bit of a punkish start today! As it's an old punk number, you could be forgiven for not being able to discipher many of the lyrics, no worries, I've looked them up for us. Very interesting they are too... The lines that jump out are: Realisations no virtue, but who can define Those masses a line. This disease is catching, from victory to stone Out of concealment, blank and stark eyed Why so uncertain, this culture deceives Prophesised, brainwashed, tomorrow's demise All systems failing, the placards unroll. Cor blimey! could be the narrative of the past few months. I think I'm going to just leave that there and let you make of it what you will.... I never know what's going to come out of these songs by the way. On to our first card of the day, So first out today is the 7 of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and of action). We see a woman meditating, in her own little bubble. She has a bright shinning sun emanating from her solar plexus. The symbol of the sun is an alchemy symbol. It is a symbol of origin that represents the completing of the Great Work. The sun represents life, influence, and strength. The Solar Plexus, or Manipura, refers to the third chakra. It spins in the area around the abdomen above the belly button up to the breastbone. Meaning “lustrous gem” in Sanskrit, the Manipura chakra provides a source of personal power and relates to self-esteem, warrior energy, and the power of transformation, it's colour is that of a bright yellow sun. In front of our subject we see multi coloured wands pointed towards her. Despite the feeling of the energy of those wands moving towards her, she is centred and resolute in that meditative position, nothing will disturb her alignment to her centred purpose. Her power, strength and resilience comes from within, no matter what may be going on around her. A reminder that the same is true of ourselves. Our second card for today is the 2 of swords ( swords representative of the air element and of thought and intellect) Well what can I say, her head's a shed! She can't see which way she's headed and she isn't sure which way to turn. There may be some challenging decisions to be made, that simply can't be avoided, it's time to weigh up the options and move forward. Our final card for today is 13 Death and Rebirth,' Into the void' are the words that come to mind with this card today. The Void is the philosophical concept of nothingness manifested. It is the psychological and spiritual black hole that once stepped into eventually opens into a whole new universe. At this point in our transformational process we come to a place that can only be called “the Void”. We cannot fully know how the future will manifest differently from what we experienced before 2020, it's organically unfolding as we go. Some aspects just as before, some transformed completely and some aspects as yet unknown. It's what we might call "a work in progress", the benefit of the void is it's unmanifest opportunity to create "something out of nothing" in simple terms. Whilst we were on the hamster wheel of pre- pandemic, we may have parked those opportunities in "Some day aisle (I'll)" now we have the chance to step into the unknown and create afresh... think about it being like the first blank page, of a brand new chapter, in a brand book..... we write the script.... it's totally ours to create. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Lift off. And from the universal comms team, another new song I've never heard before, from Dua Lipa " Levitating" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHuBW3qKm9g The line from the lyrics that jumps out at me is: "I had a premonition that we fell into a rhythm" I wonder is that the old or new rhythm? Let's see what our cards share ... First card out today is 20 Judgement. I get a strong feeling of release with this card today. In religious texts the number 20 represents redemption. Interestingly of course we are in "20 20" Angel number 2020 tells us to be prepared for the changes that are coming our way. ( blimey you're not kidding) Things will definitely change our life and we might not be happy about it at first. If we learn to trust the universal plan and flow with this spiritual journey, we will see that everything in life has its purpose. Judgment tells a story of transition, it signifies plans, often those that have been a long in the making, coming to fruition. It suggests that this is a time that is likely to shape the next chapter of our life. Judgement is ruled by Pluto, who is the great revealer, but often there's a dark night before any rebirth. Pluto brings purging and releasing buried power or core truths. It's the planet of creative destruction and it's influence can feel like extended ordeals. Pluto is similar to the energy of Lord Shiva in Hinduism. Shiva's role is to destroy the universe in order to re-create it. Hindus believe his powers of destruction and recreation are used to destroy the illusions and imperfections of this world, paving the way for beneficial change. According to Hindu belief, this destruction is not arbitrary, but constructive. We see a turquoise colour in the card, interestingly biblicaly speaking, turquoise means "River of God", and represents, healing, growth, prosperity and a new beginning, Our second card today is a return of the king of wands( wands representative of the fire element and of action) He has a mesmerising gaze as he looks out at us from the card today, he has an aura of strength about him. The salamander on his T-shirt takes my eye today. The salamander brings to focus the power of vision and opportunities. It symbolises transition and the ability to face challenges and flourish in adversity. It promises change and enlightenment. We see our king standing strong in the middle of the dessert. In the desert we have a wide open space with no distractions, allowing for clarity, revelation and purity. Because it is such a difficult, threatening terrain, it represents barriers, obstacles and challenges to be overcome. You might notice that one leg is in front of the dark barrier and one behind, perhaps suggesting that we are still working our way over the hurdles that have presented themselves. In the background we see a majestic lion. The lion represents personal power, our strength, self-confidence, courage and assertiveness. It also signifies that we are the master of our own domain. Our final card for today is 9 The Hermit. The number 9 is revered in Hinduism and considered a complete, perfected and divine number because it represents the end of a cycle. The number nine is also an important number in Old Norse myths, it’s meaning is considered to be a turning point. The angel number 9 symbolises love, faith, spiritual enlightenment, and spiritual awakening. The Hermit suggests that we are in a phase of introspection where we are asked to draw our attention inwards and look for answers within. We are asked to take of a period of inner reflection, away from the current demands of the World. In our card the woman appears to be levitating through the act of meditation. She is rising above the hard rocks of reality below. Again we see a card full of a turquoise colour. Around her we see rays of light. Light is one of the most universal and fundamental symbols. It is the spiritual and the divine, it is illumination and intelligence. Light is the source of goodness and the ultimate reality, and it accompanies transcendence into the Nirvana, a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth . In summary today, It feels as though we are still in the midst of that birthing process I've mentioned in previous storytelling posts, we are progressing though and with a little introspection, patience and inner strength we can make it to a better place. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful There's some pretty potent cosmic energy floating around right now, can you feel it?
We have yet another eclipse coming up, this time a lunar eclipse beginning at 4.07 am and ending at 4.45 am on the 5th July ( UK time). The Capricorn full moon will reach it's fullness at 5.44 am here in the UK. It's the perfect time to delve deep and tap into this magical cosmic energy for self reflection. With this in mind I've put together a simple tarot /oracle spread for you to use in your personal reflective practice. Wishing you a magical and illuminating cosmic experience, Lisa x Today's storytelling.
Catch a wave. And from the universal comms team... a great tune of the same title from The Beach Boys " Catch a wave" https://youtu.be/CFwLp2iM73Q Hmmm... now looking at the lyrics , despite the sunny disposition of the song, it would suggest a little bit of a nudge to be a little circumspect right now. "They said it wouldn't last too long, they'll eat their words with a fork and spoon". (Perhaps a reminder that we aren't at the other side of this challenge just yet) "And watch 'em they'll hit the road and all be surfin' soon" As restrictions ease even further this weekend, we may be tempted to all hit the road at once, hopefully not facilitating the surfing of a second wave. "And when they catch a wave they'll be sitting on top of the World" Maybe pointing out that this is not a leader board we want to be at the top of. Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting a downer on things... that's really not my style at all.....I guess this is just a nudge to remain mindful as we venture out. So on to today's cards. Our first card today is the king of pentacles ( pentacles representative of the earth element and manifestation) Ah look at the warmth exuding from this king. He is abundant and at ease in the world 🌎. He looks completely relaxed and at peace with his life as he reclines into his beanbag seat. We see the wolf by his side. The Wolf will always help us stand our ground in the face of adversity. It is a universal symbol of personal power, freedom and autonomy. The wolf may appear in order to warn us about something we are not able to see coming or in order to help us sharpen our intuition. When the wolf shows up in our life, we are urged to pay attention to what our gut instinct is telling us. Perhaps a message here about whilst we may feel at ease and comfortable in the World ( as we emerge out and restrictions are lifted) We should keep in tune with what our intuition is telling us and act in accordance with our own feelings. Our second card today is the 3 of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and action) There she is poised and ready to catch the wave. She's waiting for just the right moment. She's been waiting for this opportunity. She has everything in place to go for it and yet she is a little hesitant to take the first step emotionally. Our final card today is the 9 of cups (cups representative of the water element and of feelings and emotions) Looks like she's hit the jackpot there, jumping for joy with a treasure chest of abundance just behind her. She recognises the gifts of her recent experience. It has illuminated what truly brings her heartfelt joy. The card is awash with gold. The colour gold is associated with illumination, love, compassion, courage, passion, magic and wisdom. It's the colour of success, achievement and triumph. It is associated with higher ideals, wisdom, understanding and enlightenment. It inspires knowledge, spirituality and a deep understanding of the self and the soul. Gold has balancing and harmonising effect on the body, mind and spirit. It is good for improving our mental attitude and emotional states. It's been called "the master healer". As I read over the post again, what jumps out at me is the shift in us as a collective perhaps , with regards to a life of striving and material gain to survive and the contrasting gift of this experience of what in life makes truly makes us thrive. So overall a message of following our instinct, enjoying our freedoms, yet tapping into our own inner guidance system, to make our own choices about how and when we feel is right to go riding any waves ! #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Have no fear. And from the universal comms team a song from Blue Oyster Cult "Dont fear the reaper" I can't remember if we've had this song before to be honest, it popped straight into my head as the cards turned. https://youtu.be/PVn6b9QQZeM Looking at the lyrics I notice the lines... "All our times have come here but now they're gone. Seasons don't fear the reaper, nor do the wind, the sun or the rain, we can be like they are" The seasons don't fear change, they flow with it, trees don't try to hang on to their leaves in autumn, they simply let go, knowing that new growth will surely follow. A message for us to flow with change rather than try to hang on to the old, or push against the transition to the new perhaps ? Maybe, we're being urged to simply let go and allow the winds of change to bring in new growth. Let's see how this shows up in our cards today ... Our first card today is the 2 of swords ( swords representative of the air element and of thought and intellect) Blindfolded without a clear vision for the way ahead , her thoughts tug her in every direction, her noisy inner dialogue adding to her confusion, not knowing which direction to take. Today I'm drawn to the sand falling from her grasp and the phrase "the sands of time" comes to mind. The phrase "sands of time" is from a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. It describes the mark that great people leave on history. Time is like evershifting sand, it is never at a standstill. Yet in those mires of sand, some people leave their mark, and are remembered for their actions and achievements. Perhaps this poses a question to us, what mark will we leave ? I'm also drawn to the tattoo on her forearm, the air element symbol with the cross of two flags.... the words "cross keys" drop in... Crossed keys represent the metaphorical keys of Saint Peter and symbolise the keys of heaven, or the keys of the kingdom of Heaven. Perhaps we are at a gateway ? I'm also drawn to the crossroads on the ground behind our subject. Just as though it demonstrates 'X marks the spot', a phrase that means this is the exact location, for the thing that we are looking for can be found exactly here. Interestingly, it was also a term used historically in the army by firing squads, x being pinned to the heart of those put before the squad. A pretty grim thought to include here, yet metaphorically perhaps it points us to a death of old habits and ways of being in order that a rebirth and resurrection of our lives can emerge. Our second card seems to follow this storyline as it's 13 Death and rebirth. Alot jumps out at me today in this card, the starburst and the words that follow " hitch your wagon to a star" Meaning, always aspire to do great things; Do not set pessimistic goals. (From Ralph Waldo Emerson's essay, "Civilization.") Suggesting that as a Civilization we focus on the positive possibilities for our collective future, rather than mourn the negative losses of our historical past. I'm also aware of the scythe today, I've never noticed it in this particular imagery of this major arcana card before. In ancient times, the scythe was the emblem of the God Saturn, which represented the nature of the cycles of time. The scythe symbolised not only impermanence, but the nature of the life cycle, this tool of the harvest depicts the necessity of death for the renewal of life. When I write this I'm referring to this purely from a metaphorical standpoint, in terms of our ways of living and being as humans in relationship with one another and with nature. I'm of course not making reference to the awful, tragic and painful losses of the pandemic . If we can see beyond the veil; as yet possibly an inexplicable or concealed place in the future, that we cannot yet conceive or vision ( a little like our woman in the 2 of swords at the beginning of our post) Then we might be able to imagine what is possible beyond the mysteries of our current state, perhaps we can glimpse a greater existence for ourselves after this unprecidented chapter in our history. Another song comes to mind here The Belle Stars and " Sign of the times". https://youtu.be/lyV-GWhvZoY I think the title says it all really . Our final card today is the 4 of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and action) We see two young women in Festival surroundings. They are dancing and flowing with the energy and the song. These lyrics come to mind.... "Like a flower bending in the breeze Bend with me, sway with ease"... Suggesting once more that we are called to flow rather than push against now. Yet more song lyrics flow... Though I know that evening's empire has returned into sand Vanished from my hand Left me blindly here to stand but still not sleeping ( a throw back maybe to our first card ) My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet I have no one to meet And the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming.... A reference to our recent isolation and the weariness of the ongoing challenges perhaps? This card suggests that once we get to the other side of this experience, there will be time of celebration .... I'm not saying it's showing us a full scale Glastonbury festival in the card, but it is showing us the joy of connection and ease of flow returning. The woman are still energetically connected to the recent past and so it will take a little more time and space ( social distancing maybe?) to reach the new world..... But it is coming. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Dance to the beat of your own drum. And a song I've never heard before from the universal comms team "Drum" by MØ https://youtu.be/-cO43nfWxMA Looking at the lyrics what jumps out is : "Have no cares in the world, have no fears, have no money" A suggestion that no matter what now, don't have worries or fears. And the line about 'have no money', well that could be literal for individuals, organisations, countries after this global experience. Or, I don't know about you, but I've found there's not much use for cash going on right now... payments being made online or by tap and go.... so perhaps there's a suggestion here of a cashless society maybe ? "What we had, was it good, I will always remember" A letting go of life the way it was before 2020... "And now we're changing direction, I'll never forget ".... Things being different now maybe.... I was chatting on the phone with a friend last night, we were talking about watching the coverage of Glastonbury on TV from previous years, as a result of not being able to go ahead this year.... there was a pause in our conversation.... both of us wondering when that would actually be possible again.... would it ever ? Would we be saying.... do you remember when we used to have festivals... and as my friend mentioned ' buffets' ! The lyrics continue.... "I wanna elevate Dance, to the beat of your drum To the beat of your heart" Are we shifting into a new energy and way of being now ? Are we more connected, within ourselves our needs, wants and desires? And with the needs of the collective? Maybe we've woken up to life a little since being at home, having the foundations of our lives that we maybe took foregranted shift beneath our feet. A few people I've spoken to have expressed a reluctance to get back on the old hamster wheel, now that they have had a slower pace of life, allowing them to truly reflect on what's important to them and what adds meaning and purpose to their life. Perhaps they have become aware of their own drum beat , what truly sustains them at a heartfelt level. So let's see how this links through our cards for today... First card out is the three of swords (swords representative of the air element and of thought and intellect) Ahh, her heart is pulled in all directions. The overwhelming pain and confusion in this card is palpable. The words " I don't want to" drop into my mind. Linking to the theme of our song this morning, it feels like this woman is feeling the strain of the shifts and changes... Like a parent who has had quality time with their young children, now having to return to work, or a child going back to school and leaving the safety of being at home.... or the feeling of commitment to needing to return to the 9 to 5 , to get back on the hamster wheel when the heart and head is screaming no ! It feels a challenging card today for sure. Our second card today is the page of pentacles (pentacles representative of the earth element and manifestation) Today I see our subject standing firm, in balance and in alignment with her true nature. A bit like she's making a stand ( albeit with gentle grace) it feels as though she is embracing and honouring a new cycle of life. I get the feeling of her honouring her true needs, a beginning of new ways of being. A determination to maintain the balance she has begun to enjoy. When I think of this in context of the theme threading through our storytelling today, its as though she is resolute that she is going to rise above the inner pain and inner conflict of the past and start on a new venture that protects her new found balance and equilibrium. This card is suggesting then perhaps, that we look for ways to change the way we lived and worked before. This could mean a career change, self-sufficiency, flexible or home working.. or much more.... I guess anything that maintains the positive aspects of our experiences recently and negates any old worn out, soul sapping ways of being we may have had pre- January 2020. Our final card today is the knight of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and action) Wow, look at her, she's ecstatic, she is most certainly moving to the beat of her own drum. She's on fire with passion, purpose and energy. She is ready to journey on forward with renewed vigour. Following on from our previous cards it appears she's taken courageous steps to follow her own dreams, her own passions and is now focusing her energy in the direction of pursuing that. Perhaps this suggests that instead of just hopelessly falling back into old patterns, we can respond to that call to adventure and really go for it now, there's a strong thread here of tapping into our own heart's wisdom and taking action to follow what brings us joy and balance. I wonder what might this now make possible? #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful #beingonpurpose Today's storytelling.
Power. And you might notice we have an extra card today. As I laid them down I noticed that the king of wands was standing behind The Emperor.... more of that to unfold... The universal comms team came up with the word "Power" and of course the first listed song with this title on YouTube was Little Mix and "Power"... and boy what a song and video of raw power ! https://youtu.be/Dw8B1q1tKgs Let's see how this shows up in our cards ... First out today is the 2 of pentacles ( pentacles representative of the earth element and manifestation) I hear the phrase "The duality of opposites" Well she doesn't seem to know if she's coming or going, she's trying to get balance and is feeling a little stuck and frustrated. Passions are running high....with all of that deep sacral orange in the card. Orange is the colour of creativity and sexuality. In balance it brings joy, and enthusiasm, promoting a general sense of wellness. When this Chakra is blocked we experience: guilt, restlessness, confusion and lack desire or pleasure(read pent up frustration). So what's going on with the pairing of 4 The Emperor and the king of wands (wands representative of the fire element and action) Well a potent combination following on from the energy of our first card. They both have a strong presence and power. They both share the Astrological Influence of Aries. Aries is a passionate, motivated and confident leader who builds community with their relentless determination. Direct in their approach, they often get frustrated by exhaustive details and unnecessary nuances. So pop the authoritative structure of The Emperor and the driven entrepreneurial style of the king of wands and together they are a force to be reckoned with. An alternative view of this might be that as the king of wands came out behind The Emperor, he might be pushing The Emperor, bringing out his desire for power over not empowerment. Together a potent force to be reckoned with, apart there's a potential for them to go head to head becoming forceful, territorial or tribal in the pursuit of their views and ideas, then a conflict could ensue that would be just like a powder keg of energy ready to go off. Looking at our third card today 16 The Tower , I'm wondering just how this pent up energy is actually going to manifest itself. Let's just say there is nothing subtle about this bolt of lightening. The good news is that In every chaos there is an order hidden within it. What we see as a chaos, is actually driven by a very disciplined and dedicated order of things. "What we need to do is focus on the stuff before us, make our way through this chaos, and that order will sort itself out for us". - Sapan Saxena Just when all seemed to be moving onto firmer foundations.... the next shift of our foundations occurs. Divine intervention kicks in and new enlightenment is revealed. “Chaos is the backdrop for hidden wonderment and success.” — Jon Kolko Pretty "Power - full" cards today.... things are about to get even more transformational and interesting perhaps ? #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Pack up your troubles. As soon as I turned the first card this morning, the song started playing in my head from the universal comms team! "Pack up your troubles" by The Andrew Sisters. https://youtu.be/81Qu6O9yHnI "Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit-Bag, and Smile, Smile, Smile" is the full name of a World War I marching song, from 1915 . It became the stiff-upper-lip anthem of World War One. It may well have an upbeat feel to the melody, of course in truth of course it was designed to boost morale and galvanise the troops of young men going into the horrors of the trenches. I've also just realised that today is armed forces day ! Blimey that's a bit of a heavy start to today's storytelling. Let's see how this one plays out .. First card out today is the 10 of wands (wands representative of the fire element and action) Wow some heavy burdens being carried there by the ox. Thankfully, the ox teaches us how to bear hard burdens, with grace and poise. It's crescent-shaped horns gives the ox the ability to bridge between two worlds, that of sun and moon, masculine and feminine and that of intuition and reason. Its appears to have been a long journey to reach this point, tenacity is required to push on through. Also an acknowledgement of what is no longer needed, what no longer serves us and can be shed so that we can lighten the load as we move forward. Our next card today is the ace of wands, another fire card. There is a spark of creation in this card. The netting around the head of our subject reminds me of interconnection today, how one idea leads to another... it gives me a feeling of pure potential. The phrase " from little acorns, great oaks do grow". There's a feeling of momentum gathering behind this card. Which is interesting as we move to our final card for today the knight of swords ( swords representative of the air element and of thought and intellect) It looks as though that energy has transferred from our previous card and now our knight has picked up the idea and is quite literally running with it . And how focused is he ? The bird flying above makes me think of a fighter jet today. Jets are a symbol of power and of being in motion and action. It reminds us that we need to focus on the direction of our life as well as our adaptability. Ahead we see a motorbike parked up, by the side of the dirt track. The motorbike represents speed, a need for speed, taking action, making an effort, to achieve successful outcomes. Beyond the bike there doesn't appear to be any track ahead, perhaps suggesting that we are forging a whole new, unchartered path into the future. We can see some storm clouds over head, perhaps suggesting that things will be unsettled in life, for a little while longer, yet the blue skies are still there after any short lived storm has passed.... and up above the clouds the sun continues to shine. In summary today, perhaps its time we shed those heavy loads we have maybe been carrying. New ideas of how things could be have begun to germinate and now is the time to take action towards nuturing them into blossom. With all change inevitably comes a level of uncertainty and possible discomfort (as we step out of our collective comfort zone) Yet if we remember that we are forging a new path and with that will always come trial and error, its simply informing our collective learning experience as we move forward together. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
On the wings of a dove And a great song from the universal comms team... can't remember if we've been given this one before ? Anyway it's a fab song from my favourite band Madness " Wings of a dove" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MReDjx1FIaE I love the uplifting vibe of this song, it makes me want to sing and dance along, I don't know about you? Looking at the lyrics ... Take time for your pleasure And laugh with love Take the hand of another And sing for the wings of a dove... I know how difficult it's been not to be able to hold the hand of another throughout this unusual time, yet the sentiment of love and joy flows through this song. Look up at the rooftops When you`re walking round Don`t think for a moment Of looking down... A reminder maybe to look for the positives, the uplifting and a nudge to where we may be putting our focus. Let's see how this plays out in our cards today... First card out today is 21 The World, the end of the fool's journey, returning to "The World" changed. Of course life is cyclical and as one journey ends another begins. 21 signifies new beginnings and a shift into a new cycle and the potential of new opportunities. As I look at the woman in the card today, I see her with childlike wonder, almost like she's skipping with a skipping rope, a symbol of childhood innocence and fun. A skipping rope maybe indicates that we need excellent balance and coordination to reach our goals right now. The Tetrahedron shapes contained within the sacred geometry on the card jump out at me,it represents the element of Fire and is linked to the Solar Plexus; the center for personal power and acceptance. It creates the natural balance between the physical and spiritual. Each side sits flat, no matter how it is turned, making it the perfect symbol for balance and stability. Just like the woman in our card really, carefully balancing in her suspended hoop. The hoop represents the never-ending circle of life. It has no end or beginning and reminds one that we, as a global family, are all connected. Our second card today is the 9 of pentacles ( pentacles representative of the Earth element and of manifestation) I'm drawn to the bird, which today appears to me as a dove. The dove represents peace of the deepest kind. It soothes and quiets our worried or troubled thoughts, enabling us to find renewal in the silence of the mind. The dove's role is as spirit messenger, maternal symbol and liaison impart an inner peace that helps us to go about our lives calmly and with purpose. I'm also drawn to the fact the woman is reaching out to a small orange coloured mandala (pentacle). The meaning of the word mandala in Sanskrit is circle ( we do seem to have lots of circular references today don't we?) Representing the universe, the circular design symbolises the idea that life is never ending and everything is connected. Another repeating message here today. The mandala also represents spiritual journey within the individual viewer ( just like the fools journey I mentioned at the beginning of this storytell). The first level of understanding is the unity throughout the cosmos and secondly the need for each individual to find their own place within it. The orange colour signifies creativity, self-awareness, intuition and transformation. Our final card today is the 7 of cups ( cups representative of the water element and of feelings and emotions) I'm instantly drawn to the snake in the picture today. The snake as a spirit animal provides guidance about life changes and transitions, whether they are happening at the physical, emotional or spiritual level. If we think of the snake shedding it's skin, it's perhaps showing us that we are always in constant growth and evolution. As we grow physically, emotionally and spiritually, it is inevitable that we outgrow aspects of our life, therefore we must discern what no longer serves us in order to move forward. Snakes are normally close to the ground and thus they remind us to stay grounded even when moving through life changes. In summary today, it is a time of endings and beginnings, of letting go of what no longer serves us as we move forward and transform. We are urged to stay grounded as well as taking the message of the dove... to go about our lives calmly and with purpose. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Shine a light. And from the universal comms team lyrics of the same, from an Elton John classic "Philadelphia freedom". Let's see how that shinning light shows up in our cards today. First card today is 9 of cups ( cups representative of the water element and of feelings and emotions) We see a woman jumping for joy. She is uplifted, abundant and quite literally flying high. It looks like a treasure chest has been recovered from a ship wreck at the bottom of the sea.... or at least that's what it makes me think of today. A treasure chest is a symbol of something that we want to hold close to our heart and keep safe, either something with sentimental value or has highly valued contents. The sea, with its daunting width and depth, simply stands for life itself. It may be quite calm, but it become raging and even deadly in an instant, with the waves representing the sudden obstacles life throws our way. Usually, 'the sea' is used as a symbol to represent life and its hardships. The metaphors are pretty obvious in this symbolism of course, in the context of the pandemic we are experiencing globally. It also perhaps optimistically suggests out of hardships and life's trials, great inner treasure has been recovered. Our second card today is the 8 of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and action) We see multi coloured wands all coming together in perspective. Sparks of light almost explode outwards. The words "aha moment" come to mind. In other words an instantaneous spark of enlightenment. There's a fast flowing energy, intensity and velocity to the wands which give the impression of moving fast through space, as though jumping forward in time , like you might see in a science fiction movie. Maybe it suggests that Information may come thick and fast now and swift action may then follow. Our final card today is the knight of wands. Another fiery action card. We see a woman ecstacially drumming, so energetic is her drumming , her drum is alight ...perhaps suggesting incredible increase in energy and action. In the background we see a black stallion rearing up on its hind legs... it looks ready to gallop ahead. It is symbolic of immense power, illumination, stability, Patience, empowerment, inspiration, shining our light, being powerful, embracing our life’s purpose, moving forward, enlightenment and success. Of course 'a dark horse' is a previously less known person or thing that emerges to prominence in a situation unexpectedly. Perhaps suggesting that the unknown and unexpected is about to be illuminated. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Flow. And from the universal comms team, Enya's "Orinoco flow" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zkjQVh5KmQ I'm sure many of us would love to be sailing away across seas and oceans, to get away from it all, having been living with such restrictions on life and travel. Or at least perhaps sail away on our dreams of distant lands, summer holidays and the like. However, in the context of our storytelling today it appears perhaps more as a metaphor for "flow". Let's see shall we? Our first card today is a quick return of the 5 of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and of action). They're still jostling for position. Still in competition. It's all hands on deck in alignment with our boat type metaphor today.... the rush has begun to switch back on the flow ( perhaps a metaphor too for our economy, hospitality trade and the like). It does appear from our card that we need to build more sound structures, then we are seeing... rather than rush things. You only need look at those people and wands... not exactly a well planned leg up... It takes me to a memory of old swashbuckling movies and deckhands climbing the masts of ancient sailboats. Swashbuckle.... now there,s a word: To engage in daring and romantic adventures with bravado or flamboyance. We cannot do things "Just for show" right now, is what comes to mind. The other thing that springs to mind here, continuing the boat theme is "Mutiny on the bounty" A mutiny is a rebellion against authority, like when sailors overthrow the captain of a ship.Mutiny comes from an old verb, mutine, which means "revolt," and a mutiny is still like a revolt today. There is the breaking down of old hierarchy weaved within this it feels. A questioning and challenging of authority. Again the whole scene is illuminated, by a bright burning flame. It would seem many structures in our society are being bought under the spotlight of examination at this time. Our second card today is the 6 of swords ( swords representative of the air element and of thoughts and intellect) We see a woman aboard a boat, carrying her suitcase whilst the boat is pulled to the shore by 3 birds, whilst 3 other birds can be seen left behind. She is wrapped in a red shawl, red being the colour of the 1st chakra ,the Muladhara otherwise known as the base or root chakra. Red spiritually effects, stability, security, grounding, courage, action, physical and emotional survival. The turquoise skies and sea show the woman moving through spiritual and emotional changes, away from challenges and trials, towards a new future. For some reason I see the woman and think of Wednesday Addams from the Addams family. When the characters were adapted to the 1964 television series, Charles Addams gave her the name "Wednesday", based on the well-known nursery rhyme line, "Wednesday's child is full of woe." Our woman does look as though she carries the woes of the World from her journey. She has traversed the ocean and is about to reach dry land. The ocean is the beginning of life on Earth, it symbolises formlessness, the unfathomable, and chaos. The ocean can also be seen as a symbol of stability, as it can exist largely unchanged for centuries. Perhaps this suggests that no matter what the recent rise and fall of the tide, she can flow with the waves to reach a new land. Our final card today is the 6 of cups ( cups representative of the water element and of feelings and emotions) the card depicts both the inner child and the future self. It recounts a life journey. We see a Labrador puppy developing into a grown dog.Labrador retrievers represent trust, loyalty, empathy, compassion, joy and playfulness. They accept us as we are. They bring unconditional love to our life. We see the small boy encouraging the puppy and the mature man leaning on his faithful friend. This card shows us that we need both to give encouragement and receive support. It is the flow between us that builds the trust and collaboration on which our future communities are being built. It is also a card of compassion, forgiveness and love. I'm reminded of the song lyrics " Let you love flow like a mountain stream" Or as I have said many times before: "Love is the answer, what was the question?" #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful In today's episode I chat with Jazmine Wolf, life and business coach and founder of The Wolf Coaching Organisation. Re-wilding And a group of songs came from the universal comms team, yet this was the one that resonated the most, in my mind the most beautiful song ever sung by The Rolling Stones " Wild horses" https://youtu.be/QhwwCWkmYoc I'm not sure that it's the lyrics that are relevant today as much as the title and the band name in truth. As those stones keep on rolling, the Earth keeps on turning, all is moving, all is transient, all of life continues on in a forward momentum. And as for wild horses they are a mythic symbol of freedom, heroism, romance, limitless possibilities. Along with that fantasy, wild horses also embody some of the intractable complexities and contradictions of modern life. The horse signifies overcoming obstacles and how we should carry ourselves in the face of adversity. The horse spirit animal works hard to remind us to take care of our emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. so let see how this weaves it's way through our cards for today... First card out today is the 5 of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and action) Despite the chaotic energy of the competitive nature of this card, today what I'm drawn to is the sparkling gold cast by the light of the flame, that the people in the card are fighting to get to. It makes me think of fools gold otherwise known as Pyrite. Pyrite is particularly stimulating to the third chakra, known as the Solar Plexus , the energy distribution centre and the chakra of relationships. Traditionally, Pyrite is known as a stone of luck, helping to attract abundance, wealth and prosperity to the user, through its creative energies of manifestation and its encouragement of following one's dreams. It suggests perhaps, in order for us to manifest our highest dreams for ourselves it can only be achieved through supportive, caring and loving relationships with others. Our second card today is 8 Strength. We see our figure half woman and half lioness. She wears her heart clearly on show, in her lap sits a lamb. And we can see the infinity symbol tattooed on her left forearm. She reminds me we can all be taken over by our animal instincts, in this case the fierce protective energy of the lioness. It comes from an overwhelming love and passion and yet can be untamed, wild even in it's expression. The lamb reminds us of a gentle innocence. If we can approach all challenges with a gentle strength, with a beginners mind and innocent heart we can navigate all challenges, throughout all of eternity with grace. We are after all human and animal in our nature. It isn't always easy to tame our inner beast. I'm reminded that no matter what, we can be gentle with ourselves. Our final card for today is the 3 of pentacles ( pentacles representative of the Earth element and of manifestation) We see a group of people working together to create something of beauty. Each has their role to play and their contribution to the greater good. Through collaboration and pooling of knowledge everyone benefits. We do not have to do this alone is the message that comes to me today with this card. The whole is greater than the Sum of its Parts, is the phrase that comes to mind. Or as Stephen Covey said: "Synergy is what happens when one plus one equals ten or a hundred or even a thousand! It's the profound result when two or more respectful human beings determine to go beyond their preconceived ideas to meet a great challenge". #Makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Seas of love. ah... and a cheesy love song from the universal comms team , Robert Plant's The Honeydrippers " Seas of love" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BoUzzFXuVU and those words... "I want to tell you how much I love you" How gorgeous, to know that we are truly loved, in a sea of love in fact! I have no idea,as usual how this is going to add meaning to our cards today, but I trust the meaning will unfold. Our first card today is the queen of cups ( cups representative of the water element and of feelings and emotions). Our deeply intuitive queen, leads from her heart, she is love and compassion personified. What we see above the water is only a glimpse of the depth of her knowing. We see a beautiful Discus fish in the picture.A fish symbolises fertility, feelings, creativity, rebirth, transformation, abundance, serenity, intelligence, happiness, strength, and endurance. It Connects us with the water element, it represents the deeper awareness of the unconsciousness or our higher self. It suggests we need to dive deep into the seas of our intuition now, connect with our emotional intelligence to bring about heartfelt transformation. Our second card today is the knight of pentacles ( pentacles representative of the earth element and of manifestation) Today I'm instantly drawn to the floral patterns on the horses saddle. It makes me think of the ancient saddle cloths of the Kazakhs. The Kazakhs, nomads throughout history, showed an ability to adapt to numerous outer factors or challenges. They were involved in the transportation and trade of silk in ancient times, through the what was known as "The great silk way", which crossed Kazakhstan and the Central Asia, connected Western and Eastern civilizations and influenced the improvement of inter relational dialogues and culture. Ideas, knowledge, religious beliefs and goods transferred through this nomadic way of life, over a period of a thousand years, this of course inevitably influenced the Kazakhstan mentality, teaching the Kazakhs to be tolerant to other cultural customs and traditions. Perhaps our knight is pointing us towards considering how we plant seeds now for a later harvest, or as the well known quote suggests " We reap what we sow". How are we learning from our historical journey? How does that now influence our onward journey? How can we be more loving, compassionate and tolerant of those who walk along beside us on this journey of life? Our final card today is the king of cups ( wow another water element court card) We see the king deep in mediation, not unlike our queen before him.He really does lead from the heart. The fish appears once more, along with the starfish. The Starfish is a universal and celestial symbol of infinite divine love. In addition to love, the Starfish also emanates the energies of inspiration, guidance, brilliance, intuition, and vigilance, with its connection to the stars. It is important for us to "follow our own star" to what we desire right now. Know that everything is within reach. Our heart will always recognise the appropriate action. In the background we see a sailboat, symbolising journey and adventure. They also are associated with being carried along by the “breath of life,” as its primary form of momentum is gained through the wind in its sails. The Sailing symbolism also represents a Spiritual Voyage, with the water embodying the source of all life, the embodiment of Spirituality, the Spiritual Wisdom of the Soul’s journey. A new beginning is unfolding, a time of exploring a deeper level of Consciousness it would seem. A deeper more loving connection with one another. I am reminded now of the song lyrics of a famous Bee Gees song..... "How deep is your love, how deep is your love How deep is your love? I really mean to learn 'Cause we're living in a world of fools Breaking us down when they all should let us be We belong to you and me I believe in you You know the door to my very soul You're the light in my deepest, darkest hour You're my savior when I fall And you may not think I care for you When you know down inside that I really do And it's me you need to show How deep is your love, how deep is your love ?" #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's storytelling.
Stepping out. And a real blast from the past from the universal comms team... Joe Jackson's 1982 song, "Steppin' out" https://youtu.be/Ez31-p-kAPQ The lyrics that jump out at me are : 'We...So tired of all the darkness in our lives, With no more angry words to say Can come alive' And... 'Me babe, steppin' out Into the light' An interesting theme there of stepping out of darkness into the light and away from anger into truly living life. Let's see how this threads through our cards today. First card out today is 0 The fool.... ah the call to adventure, the leap of faith. Stepping out... off of that cliff edge. It may be scary, it may be unknown, it may be exhilarating, exciting... we will never know unless we take the step. The fool has a childlike wonder and innocence, it could be said niaevity perhaps. And yet as the famous quote by Lao Tzu states...'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. We have to simply trust, put our faith in a higher power or energy than ourselves and take that first step into the light of the new dawn and away from any darkness or anger. Our second card today is the page of pentacles (pentacles representative of the earth element and manifestation) our page is shown having taken that first tentative step upon a new path. New beginnings are underway. The words 'ice skating' come in like a cosmic fax. Ice skating is symbolic of graceful, free motion and the power and importance of inertia and balance. This is also an indication of a deep confidence in our ability to accomplish our goals, if we maintain our balance and embody grace in all undertaking. I'm drawn to the golden colour of our subjects trousers. To me this golden colour a symbol of working with groups and communities. Keeping our actions grounded in an intent of a loving and compassionate outcome for the greater good of the whole. Our final card today is the king of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and action) Wow, isn't he a powerful figure? We see the lion in the background. The meaning of the lion is strength and personal power. He has courage, self confidence and assertiveness. As a spiritual message, the lion brings with it the need to stop overstretching ourselves and to bring balance to all matters, he also reminds us to remain strong. Some interesting messages today, with themes of moving from darkness and anger, to love and light ( perhaps a new age cliché, yet a relevant phrase in the context of our cards and their story ) balance, compassion and community as we find ourselves 'steppin' out' #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful Today's Storytelling.
Open your heart ❤ And from the universal comms team, a song from Madonna with the same name "open your heart". https://youtu.be/snsTmi9N9Gs Let's see how this relates to our cards today... First card out today is the 2 of swords (swords representative of the air element and of thought and intellect). We see a woman wearing a blindfold, she can't see where she's going. The two birds are squawking at her, her thoughts are conflicted. On her forearm we see a tattoo, depicting the symbol for air and also that of a gateway perhaps. In the background we can also see a crossroads on the land she stands upon. It seems to point to a crossroads or a gateway of decisions to be made and yet our figure cannot see the whole picture, so the decisions are difficult to make at this time. Our second card today is 11 justice. Number 11 is a master number that is related to Karma. It is also a symbol of spiritual awakening. 11 is also called the teacher, which means that it can teach us lessons that are very important for our life. 11 is reminding us that it is time for spiritual awakening. The Justice card represents as the name suggests, justice, fairness, truth and the law. The Scales of Justice represents the balance of the individual against the needs of society and a fair balance between interests of one individual and those of another. The personification of justice balancing the scales dates back to the Egyptian Goddess of Justice, Maat, who stood for truth and fairness. It would suggest that we are as a collective human family, being called to account for our actions in the world, we are perhaps being asked to reflect ( as we see a reflection in the card) on our historical actions. Our final card today is the ace of cups ( cups representative of the water element and of feelings and emotions) We see a figure dressed in a blue vest. Blue is the colour of the throat chakra, it is the colour of the spirit and relates to our self-expression - speech, communication, the ability to communicate our needs and requirements; it holds the spirit of truth and purpose. We see the person holding a cup in front of their heart ❤. It contains swirling colours with a heart right at the very centre. Perhaps it suggests that we are called to place our heart at the centre of everything we express out into the world now. 🌎 The spiritual heart is the locus of physical and spiritual being. It represents the central wisdom of feeling as opposed to the head wisdom of reason. It is the seat of compassion and understanding, it is life-giving and life enhancing. It is a symbol for unconditional love. In summary today, our cards would suggest a choice point. That out of chaos and confusion, conflict and lack of clarity in the route ahead, if we can lead with our heart ❤ Then growth and evolution will occur. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful |
