And from the universal comms team a song I've never heard before from Nelly Furtado and Bryan Adams " Bang the drum" https://youtu.be/wr8QmqYVDBE Let's take a look at the lyrics and see what message they may hold: "You and I Together we reach for the sky. It's not about winning It's all about playing the game. From the east From the west Each of us trying our best. Chasing a dream Burning to follow the flame, bang the drum a little louder, so the whole world can hear, the whole world can hear. Sing the song a little longer,so the whole world can hear, the whole world can hear, from near, from far It's clear wherever you are. This is your moment your time to run like the wind. Dream big (dream big) aim high (aim high) Even believe you can fly Give it your all. Let the games begin Bang the drum a little louder ,so the whole world can hear, the whole world can hear. Jump up a little higher So the whole world can see,the whole world can see. Sing the song a little louder,so the whole world can hear, the whole world can hear. Bang the drum a little louder, for the whole to hear, the whole world to hear. Sing the song a little longer,so the whole world can hear, the whole world can hear. Bang your drum a little louder". A strong message to come together, to be seen, for voices to be heard, to dream a big dream and for that to be acknowledged. Let's see what what our cards have for us: First out is a major arcana card, 7 The Chariot. In the card we see the black and white horses, opposing forces being bought together to move in the same direction. We can also notice that there are no reigns or tack on the horses, they are being driven as if by willpower alone. There is a speed to the card a fast forward momentum. The carriage is a vardo, a traditional Romany carriage. On researching where the universal comms team led me, I've discovered that In 1971, in London, the World Romany Congress adopted one common flag for the Roma people. A new element called the “chakra” was added to the flag. The chakra looks like a red wheel with 16 spokes. It reminds the Roma of their Indian origin. The wheel in the centre of the flag symbolises constant movement and progress. The Chakra wheel represents the whole life of the Roma. Interestingly, all the elements of the Roma flag are inter-related and proportionally placed. The Roma are on a path of growth in the physical and spiritual planes regarding life as a whole. We notice that the young man riding on top of the carriage is without a shirt, showing his vulnerability in this journey he is undertaking, and yet he has a laser beam focus. Our card is the number 7; 7 is a powerful angel number that symbolises a person's inner wisdom, self-awareness, intuition and mysticism. For spiritual maturation and progress, all of those elements are essential. When it comes to numerology, this is a number that represents the right blend of spirituality and practicality. Our second card is the 3 of pentacles ( pentacles representative of the earth element and of manifestation into form). Following our first card, having bought together the opposing forces, we now see collaboration and community. Different skills, attributed and roles are being harnessed for the greater whole and the greater good. The phrase that comes to mind here is "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" as first coined by the philosopher Aristotle. Or we're better together, or the acronym TEAM , "together we achieve more". Our strength comes in our unity, together we rise, divided we fall. Somewhat of a repeating message from the universal comms team with this card. 3 also links us back to The Empress.... and birthing the new. Our third card is the knight of wands ( wands representative of the fire element and action) A direct link to our title and song this month. Wow this girl is in fire She's passionate, she has the momentum we saw in our first card The Chariot. She's charismatic, she is hot, hot , hot ! She urges us to dream big dreams, just as our song does. She's spontaneous in her actions, not afraid to follow that which she is passionate about. The djembe she plays is an instrument of the soul, bringing peace, understanding and love throughout the world. According to the Bambara people in Mali, the name of the djembe comes from the saying "Anke djé, anke bé" which translates to "everyone gather together in peace" and defines the drum's purpose if bringing all together. Another repeating message that we need to move beyond division to unity. Summary of themes for January : * moving from division to unity * dreaming big * fast movement forward * a collective movement * collaboration and community * together we rise, divided we fall * banging the drum for what is important and making it heard #storytelling #tarot #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful
