This morning I helped my gorgeous man signing in his delegates for his four day sales retreat, I loved welcoming in the new folk, chatting to them, making them feel welcome and ready for the days that lie ahead.
It was so interesting this morning, I got chatting to a couple of delegates who asked if I was delivering the course today, I explained that I was there to assist welcoming and checking in all the delegates, and that I worked more on personal growth and development with individuals and in workshops. One of the delegates asked oh "Have you read the Secret" and the other said "Have you heard of Louise hay" I had to smile to myself, the universe constantly gives me reminders of why I do what I do! I was called away to attend to more delegates, but I heard them go on to have a discussion about life being a series of choices, and all about your frame of mind, how you view things and your positive outlook have a direct effect on your experience. Now, the synchronicity of the whole brief exchange almost made me giggle, the universe really was at work this morning.... I wondered if those same two people may have even considered having such a conversation had the universe not intervened??? Useful though, as I already know what they're going to cover today in the first day of the retreat.... nothing about sales as it happens... but all about them, how their thoughts become things as a result of the choices they make and how the law of attraction is always at work in every moment! I love the way the universe delivers our choices, its just like a Universal warehouse just waiting on us to place our orders ( our thoughts + Emotions = choice = orders manifest into our reality) It also struck me that this way of thinking and understanding how we tick, although not at all new... is now becoming a more mainstream understanding and I am uplifted by this thought. There is still much work to be done however, because choices are based not only on our values; who we are at heart, but also on our beliefs, which can be positive and empowering or negative and limiting. You've got a lot of choices. If getting out of bed in the morning is a chore and you're not smiling on a regular basis, try another choice. ~Steven D. Woodhull Take the recent riots, choices were being made by the individuals involved, that were based on fear, based on limiting beliefs.... I have found myself thinking a lot about this over the past few days. What would need to happen to give these people the opportunity to shift their fear based limiting beliefs into positive empowering beliefs? That would not only allow them to live a happier and more fulfilled life but also have a positive effect those around them, their family, their friends and their community? It's not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are. ~Roy Disney I think maybe the key ingredient that's missing is that of cause and effect.... for every action, every choice there is a reaction, a consequence. Positive or negative. Life is a series of choices. Each and everyone has manifest outcomes in reality...... For the rioters we are seeing that their choices have returned to them an outcome manifest into reality, they are receiving the consequence of their choices. Now when we make a choice you may have heard me say there's no failure only feedback.... well they are receiving that feedback now... not only in terms of the sentencing they are receiving, but also the outcry of their communities..... but my question is how do we empower them to use that feedback to make different choices in the future? There's been no end of discussion on this already.... but I thought to myself, if everyone of them had the opportunity to learn more about just how they tick as human beings, just how the universal laws work, if we could engage them long enough and with passion.... would we then have not only empowered them to learn from their feedback, but we would have also taken collective responsibility for acting on the greater feedback we're being given as their fellow human beings, their neighbours, their friends, their family....? We are all in it together, we didn't act in the riots, and I certainly would never dream of doing such a thing, but that doesn't negate our need to take a long hard look at what we can do to prevent the same cycle repeating again and again and again. Maybe, just as the universe can come along and give us our own individual wake up calls, this was a societal one... we had the expenses scandal, now we have had the riots.... how many more wake up calls are required for us to take a look at the feedback and ask ourselves some quality questions? Out of quality questions we get quality answers. There is a gift in all of this however, you only need take a look at Woolwich's wall of love to know that out of the rioters choices, some people are asking quality questions, they have heard the wake up call.... and do you know what they're starting to make choices from LOVE and not FEAR! I would love the opportunity to work with our youngsters on this, its certainly not stuff taught in our schools, not your mainstream curriculum, but the value I truly believe would be immense! Life is the sum of all your choices. ~Albert Camus Until next make every moment count! Lisa xx
