Today's storytelling.
Old structures falling away to reveal the freedom of enlightenment. As I woke this morning, bright sunshine streaming in through the window, a song came to mind "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" by Billy Ocean. And quite unexpectedly for our current circumstances, I felt an excitement. Despite all outward experiences of being in a situation of restriction , I felt this was the first step towards freedom and enlightenment. In our first card today you can see the Hierophant ( High Priest) in true hippy stylee in this deck, smiling and laughing,as if he knows everything that we have yet to discover , in his energy we can see a jumble of the symbols of different Faith's of the World, not separate but together, ahead at the top of the very long upward moving staircase we can see a bright light and the most beautiful mandala. Surrounded by the beautiful soft pink of the heart chakra... of love, compassion and infinite peace. You might also notice that he is sitting with his feet sole to sole (or soul to soul). Perhaps this is our collective opportunity to shift into a new paradigm of living and being. Old traditions falling away to allow for a new way of being connected. Starting with ourselves. As we move on to our next card today, we see both the stillness and potential waves of the sea, yet the king is centred in his meditative state. With heartfelt energy emitting from his centre, he is balanced between the emotional and the logical. The ebb and the flow. The boat or ship in the background reminds me of a blog I once wrote about Leadership http://www.getalife-uk.co.uk/get-a-l…/leadership-lead-a-ship The starfish in the card reminds me of a story shared with me in the early days of learning to be a coach in my 20s . You may be familiar with the starfish story, in case you're not here it is: "One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?” The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…” I made a difference for that one.” For those of us dedicated to service of others the “starfish story” is the standard call to duty, knowing that each life you touch matters, even if it is only one. This is our individual and collective call to action. Right here, right now, today. As we reach our final card today, we find the queen of swords pondering her vision of the future. Perceptive, wise and a truth seeker. She speaks with absolute authority and clarity , her message is one of higher purpose, as she surveys the horizon from her lofty mountain top. We can see a pot behind bars, held there until the timing is right, just as we ourselves are. This is a time for clear thought , building new foundations and internal structures, ready to create anew , when the timing is right. #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful
