I'm sure you've heard the saying "Once in a blue moon" right? But did you know that there was actually an equation to go with it? Once in a blue moon =1.16699016 × 10-8 hertz ..... I know what you're thinking, what on Earth does that mean Lisa? ... and I have no idea, all I do know is it's not something that occurs all the time. In fact the last time we had a blue moon in July was 11 years ago! What were you doing 11 years ago I wonder? How much has changed in the World; yours and mine? Of course the phrase "Once in a blue moon" has nothing to do with the actual colour of the moon, although a literal "blue moon" (the moon appearing with a tinge of blue) may occur in certain atmospheric conditions.A blue moon is an additional full moon that appears in a subdivision of a year, either the third of four full moons in a season or, a second full moon in a month of the common calendar. ( Thanks Wikipedia) So I guess the blue moon equation just shows that its a rare event, in other words it doesn't happen very often. Full moons always signify things coming to fruition to me.......Not only that but we have the point of the year when we traditionally celebrate the first harvest, falling on the 1st of August ( this Saturday). Seems to me we're at a powerful and pivotal point, wouldn't you say? We've got a real opportunity to take stock, to reflect ,review and to celebrate the fruits of our labour. If you were to stop and reflect ; on not only this first harvest of 2015, but also to look back to all that has happened since the last July blue moon 11 years ago, I wonder.... What journey have you traveled? How far have you come? What is your bountiful harvest ? Wow, looking back...... in July 2004 I was planning my escape from the corporate world with a little help from the universe in the form of consultation for redundancy from my leadership role in a well known high street bank. It had been a short lived affair of only 10 months after being head hunted from the Boots group. ( read between the lines... 10 months service = no redundancy settlement). Despite the lack of redundancy settlement , I remember the feeling of limitless opportunity in starting my first business; the multi award winning Calma Wellness Centre. It wqas a truly joyful and exciting time, full of possibility. Boy if this blue moon has any of those same influences then BIG OPPORTUNITY and MIGHTY CHANGE is ahead! I've come on a very long and winding road in these past 11 years.... how about you? Wow, it's quite mind blowing to consider how far I've come. Yes there have been some amazing highs and there have been some very difficult lows weaved into those past 11 years, but you know what? Even the challenges have been a gift... for they have formed me into the person I am today. As I consider my harvest right now I feel truly blessed and abundant on so many levels. I urge you today to consider your past 11 year journey..... to reflect on your harvest and celebrate your blessings. I couldn't write about the moon without mentioning some of the Astrological energy influences going on right now..... Not only is there some amazing energy attached to this full moon, we have the astrological influences of several celestial bodies being retrograde. So this is a real time of powerful energy. Its position in Aries indicates revolt from any repressive situation and beginning again planning your life the way YOU want it to be. Therefore from this day it is the time for thinking about what you should do but not acting upon it until Christmas or after. Think about if you have enough independence and freedom to do whatever you think is necessary. Have you been seeking approval from people who now have too much control, or influence over you.
