Today's storytelling. Once in a lifetime. Ah thanks universal comms team... cracking tune today, Talking heads, "Once in a lifetime". https://youtu.be/5IsSpAOD6K8 And boy isn't this a once in a lifetime experience! Each day and week that goes by, I still find myself thinking how bizarre the World is.... we eventually watched the film 'Contagion the other evening, after what seemed like half of social media had made comment on the story line being a little too familiar for comfort. After watching it, both myself and hubby said, "wow that was a bit too accurate". Now if we'd have watched it back in 2011 when it first came to the big screen, we would most probably have said, ' yeah, not a bad film... a bit far fetched though' ... we could never have imagined it would pretty much come to pass in reality. So from that point of view, I really do hope it's a once in a lifetime experience. On the flip side ( there is always duality) maybe this is also a once in a lifetime opportunity, as much of the daily storytelling has suggested. A time to reflect on what's working and what's not, what serves us and what doesn't , on both a macro and micro scale. So onto our first card today... the 8 of Pentacles ( pentacles representative of the Earth element and manifestation) 8 is the symbol of resurrection and regeneration. In Bible numerology, 8 means new beginning; it denotes “a new order or creation, and man's true 'born again' event when he is resurrected from the dead into eternal life.” 8 signifies a time of investing in our self and overcoming judgments that stand between us and our strong ambitions. We will learn that others can only dominate us if we allow them to and that all circumstances can be changed by taking determined action. Simply put its a number of inner strength and determination towards growth. In the card we see a young woman sitting on a modern plastic chair, perhaps like you might find in a waiting room.( maybe depicting a need for patience)She is mesmerised by a green candle, as she watches the meditative flicker of the flame. In candle magic, Green is associated with nature, growth, and fertility and is a symbol of the Goddess and her green earth. It is also a colour often linked to money and financial success.Used for luck and prosperity, abundance and generosity, earth magic, physical and emotional healing, rejuvenation, and renewal. It can also assist agriculture, encouraging a good harvest. It is used it to invoke or represent the element of Earth(as in our card, manifestation). We see around our young woman an array of pots filled with plants and herbs, including a daisy and an Aloe Vera plant. A stack of papers and books sit beside another candle and feather quill. A quill, or a writing pen that is made from the feather of a bird, is a symbol of communication. It is also antiquated and old-fashioned, indicating manners and sensibilities that are a throwback to the past. It is often seen as being graceful and beautiful. Bleached white quills are for use in writing out healing and blessing wishes, for protection spells and for sanctifying new ventures. The Egyptians famously knew Aloe Vera as the 'plant of immortality' and used it to treat infections and diseases spanning many generations over centuries. Daisy flower essence may help us to stay centred, grounded and in command when circumstances which are out of our control threaten to throw us off balance. This essence helps us to centre in our self, remain calm and composed, collect our thoughts and then move forward with peace of mind. Our second card today is another pentacle this time the 4. 4 spiritually is a sign of stability and balance. To reach a point of stability, we need to endure and overcome all the challenges that will present themselves in our life. To do this, we need to trust in ourself and grow our connection to the spiritual realm. We see a woman who looks to be in a middle Eastern or African setting. Sandy Hills are in the background , a backdrop to a small collection of buildings. The woman wears a brightly coloured yellow headscarf and a rusty red dress. Her wrists are adorned with bangles. On her earring is the runic symbol meaning 'estate' . She wears beads around her neck and carries a purse decorated with coloured mandalas (pentacles). She appears to be guarding her belongings carefully, saving for the future perhaps, conserving what she has. She is blessed and has more than enough. She is able to support both herself and others. Our final card for today is 3 the Empress. 3 has the energy of kindness, joy, creativity, and imagination. It represents inspiration, creation, manifestation, and growth. It symbolises the interconnectedness of our body, mind, and spirit and is carefully aligned with the divine energy. She nurture the ultimate mother in her belly. She is resting clearly attuned to the moon's cycles.Change and new growth is brewing, its almost the time for the new earth to be birthed. Patience is required, rest is required. Soon enough we will be ripe to our next chapter. “Trust the process. Your time is coming. Just do the work and the results will handle themselves.” - Tony Gaskins #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful
