Credit image: http://thewildwoodtarot.com/ I wonder, are you the true hero or heroine in the story that is your life? Are you savoring the journey of life, or do you find yourself wondering how the week has passed you by in the blink of an eye ? I have to admit, I have been in that place sometimes. Sitting on the sofa with my hubby, tuning into a favourite show saying, can it really be a week ago that we watched this? Being present and mindful really does take practice..... ongoing practice. It can be all to easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of day to day life, so easy to forget to "notice". We can all find ourselves hurtling down the motorway of life, rather than enjoying a trip along a meandering country lane, or a walk through ancient woodland full with wisdom and knowledge in every bow. So, when the universe conspired for me to be in just the right place, at just the right time... and in a place of "noticing", I found Tiffany Crosara, Author, speaker and the creator of The Transformational Truth of Tarot Game changer. In fact it was the Game changer that first caught my attention, which led me to having a Whatsapp call with Tiffany. What I learned was that Tiffany uses the Tarot in a truly different, inspiring and empowering way. This is not about predicting tall dark handsome strangers (although there's nothing wrong with that of course for those who use these tools in that way) This is a truly awe inspiring personal journey of growth through the medium of the tarot. An absolutely transformational one. If you are familiar with the tarot you may have heard of "The Fools Journey". The Fool's Journey is a metaphor for the journey through life. Each major arcana card of the tarot stands for a stage on that journey - an experience that a person must incorporate to realise their wholeness. The Hero's journey (a book by Joseph Campbell) seems to follow this same theme,I suspect there are some strong links to the fools journey weaved within it.... and gave name to the transformational journey in the title of this blog. Having connected with Tiffany I started to understand her way of facilitating growth through the tarot, I was intrigued, so joined her Inner Transformation Circle and set out on a 22 day journey along with several fellow travelers. I loved the daily focus it gave me, from choosing the representation of each of the 22 major acarna to place on the home screen of my phone, to the self reflection opportunity of journalling my day, all designed to notice the messages, symbolism and archetypes as they arose and what they meant to me. There was then an invitation to share that in a private space (facebook group) with my fellow "Hero's" and "Heroines". In fact reading each others journey was very powerful, as it stimulated thought and feeling and provided a mirror to my own experiences. Credit Strength card image: https://www.78tarot.cards/78-tarot-carnival/ Some imagery seemed to jump out at me, for example there was no question which "Strength" card I would choose. On "Death" card day, I even came downstairs early in the morning to find my hubby had pulled out my skulls shopping bag to carry some of his work files in! I soon became aware of just how literally the cards would show up, so quickly became very discerning of the imagery I was choosing. This was especially the case with the "Magician" card I choose.... take a look below ( I finished up with a migraine that day). I chatted with my hubby, friends and colleagues about my experience as the journey unfolded., he even started to spot the messages when I hadn't noticed them. It was interesting that each and everyone i spoke to about the experience really embraced this way of working with the tarot, as more of a personal coaching tool. I felt a real sense of "me time" and coming back to centre throughout the whole experience, I really set out without any expectations, simply a curious heart and mind. What did I discover... Wow, what didn't I discover. Not so much new revelations as much as a deep remembering, a feeling of coming back on course and a clear realisation of where my path had perhaps strayed. I reached "The World" with a fire in my belly and a determination to create something magical and amazing as a result (more about that another time). During my journey I was also blessed to be part of a "Transformation truth of tarot game changer" session. Wow what a tool this is, for self, for family, groups, even teams to really delve deep and transform and transmute. ( If you get the chance to attend one of Tiffany's Game changer events I'd highly recommend it) So having completed the journey, I can say without out any doubt I have a whole new relationship with the tarot, I've fallen back in love with it and have gained an even greater understanding of what a truly powerful transformational tool it is in personal growth. I'm all set and ready for my next ten day "Journey to authenticity" through the suit of swords. I'm certain that it will only deepen my awareness of self and my journey along this road we call life.
