Today's storytelling. There's a light . And when that phrase comes into my mind like a cosmic fax, there can be only one soundtrack running .... from The Rocky Horror Picture Show (you may have guessed I'm a huge fan, I mean HUGE) https://youtu.be/7T22XVzoCLA Taking a look at the lyrics for a moment: "In the velvet darkness Of the blackest night Burning bright There's a guiding star No matter what Or who you are" Reminding us that even though we maybe in the dark about an end to our current situation, there is light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. Just a day follows night, this too shall pass at some point. So onto our first card for today, a reappearance of the page of swords ( swords representative of the air element and thought, mind and intellect)The page brings new ideas, new information and data, new inspiration and insights. Though she treads tentatively , there are the seeds of new thoughts forming. Whilst she is still in a precarious situation ( balanced above a precipice) she is getting ever closer to solid ground. We can see that she is in a whirlwind of energy, the ideas coming thick and fast, her task is to discern which idea to progress and follow. The two birds bring messages too, she appears to be too consumed in her own concerns to notice them, yet the very best ideas may come from the most unexpected sources, so she may be wise to hear them. Our second card today is the major arcarna card, 13 Death & rebirth. The number 13 is a karmic number and is the number of upheaval so that new ground can be broken. The number 13 has great power. If this power is used for selfish purposes, it will bring destruction of the self. Adapting to change gracefully will bring out the positive strength of the 13 vibration. The death card couples with 4 The Emperor 1+3= 4 who as we know likes structure, it could therefore be thought of deconstruction into reconstruction. The breaking down of the old, to build the new.In the card we see a red cloaked figure , yet within the cloak there is no figure, but a bright star or sun high above the trees. Red corresponds with the base chakra. "When we balance our base chakra, we can develop a deep trust in our place in the world and a strong sense of personal safety and security underlies every step we take in life." -Natalie Southgate. The first chakra, located at the base of our spine, is called Muladhara in Sanskrit, meaning root support. Like the root system of a tree, our root or base chakra energetically grounds us in the physical world, including our own body.Linked to physical realities of life: security, shelter, sustenance, family, tribe, the first chakra is associated with primordial trust. It is the chakra associated with our basic instincts for food, shelter, sex and survival, or the base of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The lesson of Muladhara chakra is grounding, a full inhabiting of our physical bodies as the embodiment of our connection to the element of earth. To cease existing primarily in our heads and inhabit our bodies. To cease grasping onto people, places and things as the source of our security. To find our own root support. I guess you could say our current situation has thrust us into the reflection on our basic needs and stripped away our "normal" World . Perhaps we are being shown " The light" so to speak. Our final card today is the 5 of cups, she's shown up once more (cups representative of the water element , feelings and emotions)She still seems to be hanging on to what she's lost, not yet seeing what she still has, maybe what is abundant, what to be grateful for . It would seem the future she was working towards no longer exists, yet just beside her she is missing the bowl of bright opportunity and new beginnings. She has a choice, either to allow her life force to drain away with a focus on that dark hole , or to lift her gaze, look around and see the bight light of the future. A strong message to today of the transition from dark to light, from hopeless to hopeful and from old to new. “Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark.” – Rabindranath Tagore There really is a light....x #makingadifference #lifeisbeautiful
