I'm writing this month's newsletter a little later than usual, as I've just returned from an amazing trip to Thailand. What a beautiful place, with such an amazing energy and truly wonderful people.
I feel so very lucky to have had the opportunity to visit the Big Buddha pearched high upon the hilltop in Phuket,to be blessed by the Buddhist Monks there and also to visit the most beautiful temple at Chalong.
When I arrived in Thailand I noticed that outside most houses and businesses there are Spirit houses. The Spirit House can be seen at a prominent spot outside every home and business establishment in the country. It can be seen on a pedestal in Front of every hotel. It dresses the corner garden area of a restaurant, the Front of a bar, disco or put Spirit houses are even seen at outdoor food markets.
The purpose of the Spirit House is to provide an appealing shelter for the spirits, or celestial beings, who would otherwise reside in the heavens, Find a place in large trees, or in caves, cliffs. waterfalls or other natural surroundings.
The Guardian of the House is the spirit that watches over and protects the home or business. Thai people believe wholeheartedly in the spirit house and it's importance light incense every morning and ask the spirit to watch over and protect the home or business.
Whilst staying at my hotel I was invited to take part in the annual Spirit house blessing, another moving and magical experience. Interestingly, in the Tsunami of 2004, the only ground floor room not to be damaged was the room directly behind the Spirit house, where not one drop of water entered the room!
There are many stories I could share with you about the sights and sounds of this amazing part of the World, but the one thing I must share is probably not what you'd expect....
Whilst taking part in the 5th Katathani international Petanque tournament ( thats another story I'll share some other time) I was watching another team playing when I happened to notice a tattoo across the back of a young woman sitting in front of me...
As we know the universe works in mysterious ways and the messages are always there if only we notice them.... The Tattoo read " Breathe, Share your Love, Hunt your dreams". What a message hey?
So I urge you to take a moment now to "Breathe" be at one with your breath, focus simply on your breath, your life force.
And today I urge you to "Share your Love",consider in every moment and every interaction how you can act with loving kindness towards yourself and others today.
And finally, what will you do to "Hunt your dreams" today... what dreams do you hold as yet unmanifest?
Give Breath, Love and Energy to your dreams today, hunt them out in every moment.
