Colors are the smiles of nature. ~Leigh Hunt So last week, right after new year, myself and my gorgeous man, headed off to Wyboston lakes, not for a jolly, but to undertake some serious learning ( makes very serious learning type face). We were attending a personality profiling, three day accreditation workshop. Now for those of you who know me or have read my blog ( or my book for that matter) will know colour is a BIG thing for me. If you've attended one of my workshops, or if you've had the "Finding your true purpose" workbook, you'll also know that I have a little bit of a thing for rainbows too! So what better way to start 2013 than doing some serious learning about Hippocrates ( Basically one of the top dudes as far as philosophy goes or I guess you could say "The Daddy" of medicine) "[In classic times] medicine was equated with philosophy and three Greek Fast forwarding to Jung ( top bloke as far as psychology goes) and throw in a bit of colour to boot and you've got it all sussed! Simple right? Not so fast..... what unfolded over the three days was a fascinating (sometimes painful, cringe worthy and downright uncomfortable) and empowering journey, delving deep into just what makes us tick as human beings. How our energy "Shows up" and how that energy either blends like a beautiful piece of art, or crashes from one paint splat to another. We are all made up of the full spectrum of colour energies, but what we learnt is that we all show up differently than one another. As we know in life no two people are completely the same ( you may have read "Beautifully unique" in Get a Life! - the guide book) whilst we can have similarities, it's our uniqueness that makes us truly special. So then, if we all show up with a different mix of colours and have our own beautiful colour palette, at times we will be in sync with those around us and at times we may feel / think that the energies showing up around us are challenging or uncomfortable. Consider this however.... If we all have the full spectrum of colour within us, then we do have the ability to be like the chameleon, to change our colour energy to flow more freely along our life journey. We have the ability to create beautiful works of art as we interact with those around us. So what prevents that happening? What happens to dim our brightness? Maybe it's simply a lack of awareness, or understanding of our differences. Or perhaps we take on the projections of how other's "Show up" believing that there is a "Right" and "Wrong" energy, when in truth its all just the colourful tapestry that makes the journey so interesting. Of course this is a HUGE subject, that I'm not going to cover in just one blog! But I thought it would be fun to start the journey with you today! So let's start.... As you can see above we can look at the colour energy in terms of the four elements, extroversion/ introversion, head/ heart as well and intuition/ sensing. Each colour energy demonstrates different positive ( and less positive energy traits) Would it surprise you to learn that my energy shows up with predominant splashes of yellow and green energy? and much less red , along with very little blue? That's not to say I can't trun those energies up and down, in fact stretching those "Colour energy muscles" is imperative for my personal growth. ( I feel a huge arc of a rainbow stretch coming on!) So how would your energy show up? Fascinating isn't it? So let's take that sunshiney yellow energy.... How may it show up? YELLOW Positive: Optimism, confidence, self-esteem, extraversion, emotional strength, friendliness, creativity. Negative: Irrationality, fear, emotional fragility, depression, anxiety. Yellow will lift our spirits and our self-esteem; it is the colour of confidence and optimism. Too much of it, or the perception that it is the "wrong" colour energy in relation to the other colour energies ( those around us) , can cause self-esteem to plummet, giving rise to fear and anxiety. Our "yellow streak" can surface. Yellow is a ‘pick me up’ colour energy that animates, enlivens, energises and is a ray of sunshine on dull mornings. We can all recognise that ray of sunshine within our friends and family, right? Creative and imaginative is the person with lots of yellow energy. A person with yellow energy is an inspirational person to be around. Considering the psychology of the colour yellow, you can see how this may relate to this energy personified.
How does yellow make you feel? Do you associate yellow with certain qualities or situations? I also started considering how Yellow energy may show up in the chakra's (energy system) again this makes for another interesting aspect, if you consider how we might surpress our own yellow energy, or flood our environment with yellow energy , when we may need to turn the colour down a little!
Understanding Solar Plexus Colour : Yellow Directly affects : Mental body Core functions : Transforming energy into matter, matter into energy, ideas into reality, finding purpose, self esteem, self identity, relationship with people Challenges when solar plexus chakra is not open or in balance : Basically there are two types of chakra imbalances : 1. Physical symptoms of solar plexus chakra imbalance : Ulcers, diabetes, anorexia, bulimia, indigestion, insomnia, panic attacks, confusion, fatigue, Stress. When the solar plexus chakra is balanced : Healthy relationships, success in business and material world, vitality, self confidence, spontaneous, celebrates life. So that's enough for one blog..... quite enough yellow energy for now! I'll be looking at the other colour energies in future blogs, but if you'd like to know more about personality profiling with colour you can contact me here Until next time, make every moment count, Have a colourful day..... in·tu·i·tion (noun).
~ The act or faculty of knowing or sensing without the use of rational processes; immediate cognition. ~ Knowledge gained by the use of this faculty; a perceptive insight. ~ A sense of something not evident or deducible; an impression. What is Intuition? Intuition is the inherent ability to connect with our "inner self." Our inner self (or "higher self") is that part of us that knows everything we need to know and helps guide us through our existence in the physical world. Successful business people are often described as having a "sixth sense," "gut feel" or an "intuitive" feeling about their business, career, industry trends or stock market trends. What is it that makes them so successful? Usually, they have consciously strengthened their natural intuitive abilities and learned to make those abilities work for them in the business world. Are you using your intuition? Intuition can take many forms:
Some of the most inspirational and successful people I have come across in business, actively tap into their inuition. Some use tools such as Astrology, Numerology, dowsing, all tools that work for them, which may sound extreme to some of you that are reading this.....but it works! I choose a card for the day every morning, to allow me to "Check in" with my own inner guidance! Let me give you an example..... Take the example of the best traders in the City..... they combine their knowledge and logic with raw "Gut instinct" in the split second they make their ground breaking deals. People like Donald Trump, Sir Richard Branson, Walt Disney to name a few are people who have all listened to that “inner knowing” and followed it, sometimes on multi million or even multi billion dollar deals. They have acted on it and been proved right time after time. Often that knowing had no basis in logical reality, yet it was right. Let me name a few others that trusted their intuition........ 1) Masaru Ibuka Founder and chairman of Japan's Sony Corp. Asked in an interview, "What is the secret of your success?" He said he had a ritual. Preceding a business decision, he would drink herbal tea. Before he drank, he asked himself, "Should I make this deal or not?" If the tea gave him indigestion, he wouldn't make the deal. "I trust my gut, and I know how it works," he said. "My mind is not that smart, but my body is." 2) Tom Peters Management consultant and best selling author "Leaders trust their guts. "Intuition" is one of those good words that has gotten a bad rap. For some reason, intuition has become a "soft" notion. Garbage! Intuition is the new physics. It's an Einsteinian, seven-sense, practical way to make tough decisions. Bottom line, circa 2001 to 2010: The crazier the times are, the more important it is for leaders to develop and to trust their intuition." 3) From Forbes Business Magazine:-Peter Vegso played a hunch that turned his struggling publishing company into an industry powerhouse. At a 1992 booksellers convention he attended, an acquaintance, Jack Canfield, was peddling a manuscript of inspirational stories he had collected over 20 years as a motivational speaker (Chicken Soup for the Soul). One hundred and forty publishers had rejected the book. Canfield asked Vegso to look at it. "I said, 'Jack, I'll publish it,'" recalls Vegso, president of Health Communications Inc. "He said, 'Don't you have to read it first?'" … the rest, so they say, is history! Inspired? Interested? Curious? If you want to harness the power of YOUR intuition you can join myself and Adrian Peck on a one day workshop Friday 5th March, more details HERE Lisa x |
