Now we all talk to ourselves, it's a natural human trait. I certainly do. But here's the thing.... What does it sound like that inner voice? Is yours kind, loving, supportive... your biggest fan? your cheerleader? OR is yours the kind of inner critic I like to call THE GREMLIN?
Hmmm... good question hey?
Well the best way to tell is to listen to the words yours is using.... Are there words such as... You can, You're good enough, Go for it, I've got your back..... OR can you hear... Don't be stupid, you can't, you're not good enough, who do you think you are? you're going to make a fool of your self.
Let's hazard a guess, if you had to say which shows up more, I'm going to bet it's your inner critic... that nagging little Gremlin... am I right?
In this instance to really want to be proved wrong. However, in my experience we all give way to that inner critic from time to time, that doubting Thomas that stops us really fulfilling our true potential.
This little blog is a subject matter I often talk about in my talks.....I wonder... just how long have you given head space to that little critter? I hope you're charging it a good rent, because I can't think of any other positive reason to give it any head space for so long, can you?
Maybe it's time to give your inner critic the heave -ho .... lets call it an eviction from the big brother house that is your head. It's 3.44pm in the big brother house and the inner critic is being evicted....
How about imagining that little critter as a cartoon character and giving it a name... you can see it now can't you? When you look at it now... well it just looks kinda funny really, that cartoon character with that silly name. Well its time that little fella ( or gal) took a long, long holiday. After all its never had a holiday has it? not for any length of time..... that's a long time to go without having a break in my opinion.... So in truth your doing it a favour... giving it a gift no less... You're so generous after all ! That's it you can see it, bags packed, little passport in hand, waving as it takes its little sabbatical to go aggravate, berate, niggle, doubt and moan to itself to its little hearts content.
As we know, when a key member of the team ( no matter how detrimental they are) is off on a break, we have to get in a replacement, a bit like getting a substitute teacher ( a good one) to cover the class... after all life is one big humongous class room and every day we're on this Earth is a school day. So guess who's coming to cover?
YOUR BIGGEST FAN!
Oh how exciting, your biggest fan is well.... just like a cheerleader, they'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, high fiving you at every opportunity ... I know you're picturing them right now aren't you?
Take a good look at them, maybe they represent someone you admire, or someone you know, or perhaps some super hero... after all they are a part of you and we absolutely know YOU ARE A SUPER HERO!

I wonder how is your life different now that your biggest fan is in residence?
What will you be, do and have now that you no longer have that little gremlin that you used to shack up in your loft space?

Anything is possible now, 'cause your biggest fan is the teacher and well that's going to make one heck of a difference. Just think of all the CANS.......
No... not that sort of cans..... I mean CANS instead of CAN'TS !
As we know success comes in cans...... not can'ts.
I urge you to take a moment now and consider the language your biggest fan is using. What pictures are you making in your head? Imagine the possibilities, they're limitless... the future is bright the future is ......

Although I could talk here about the health benefits of vitamin C... of which there are many... but we'll talk about that in a later blog.....
Seriously, your vision of the future will be so much brighter with your biggest fan in the CEO post.
Life is about to get loved up, miraculous and a whole lot more positive without the neg head, energy drain that was your inner gremlin.
Oh, and if it should try to return... He/ she who shall not be names... like a very undesirable character from Harry Potter... just remind it... YOU'RE ON HOLIDAY! MY BIGGEST FAN HAS EVERYTHING COVERED !!!!!!
And then give yourself a big hug... be sure to keep it going for 20 seconds so all those juicy feel good vibes dance around your body !

How are you enjoying the beautiful summer sunshine?
As I sit here typing this month's newsletter the golden rays of warmth are streaming in through the window, the garden is in full bloom and my spirit feels lifted by such a beautiful day. Each day the forecast has claimed it it be 'The hottest day of the year' and we're told that the sunny spell is here to stay for a while.
Its amazing just how a sunny day can shift your feelings don't you think?
No matter what's going on in life, a little sunshine brings brightness and illumination. I took a walk along the lane at the weekend with my gorgeous man and as we walked and looked around me at the wild flowers growing amoung the wheat and instantly I was reminded of the long hazy days of summer as a child. The long six weeks holiday in my memory, was full to the brim of hot sunny days, walking through the fields, playing on the tree swing with my friends, days full of joy and laughter,making secret dens and spending hours and hours outdoors, drinking in all that vitamin D.
Back then, summer lasted for what seemed a lifetime!
Isn't it funny when you're a child time goes on and on, yet when you're an adult, weeks are gone in the blink of an eye and months fly by and you find yourself; wondering where all those years went .From being that child running through the wheat fields and paddling in the brook to the adult with responsibilities and tasks to be done- for many, a life full of a series of 'to do' lists and bills to pay. I urge you now today, to reconnect with that childlike wonder. Savour those juicy sunny moments. Enjoy the moment, in every moment, instead of living for the latte, waiting for the weekend, or putting your joy on hold until all the work is done.What better time than now?
You know I realise that I'm so blessed to have lived most of my life in the countryside and I do truly appreciate the gifts and opportunity that has given me. No matter if you live in the countryside yourself or in a town or city, getting out into nature, be it your local park or any area of greenery, I'd really urge you to get outside, it really does soothe the soul and its good for your health.Exposing skin to sunlight may help to reduce blood pressure, cut the risk of heart attack and stroke - and even prolong life studies have shown.
Its also our source of Vitamin D, which is essential for healthy bones, we get most of our vitamin D from exposure to sunlight.Sunlight helps lift our spirits, by stimulating the synthesis of endorphins (good-feeling hormones).The sun even helps us to sleep more soundly. Daytime exposure to sunlight increases the melatonin production during the night. This hormone helps regulate the sleep.
So even if you've spent the day cooped up in the office or inside at work, then take a few minutes this evening to walk in the sunshine, feels its warmth against your face and simply smile with childlike wonder at the beauty of the hazy summer days!
Be really present, notice all the gorgeousness of summer around you. I mean really notice. Yes, it will soon be the weekend again,the week will have flown by again, unless you put down the 'To do list' and make the moment count. I'm sure for at least a few moments it can wait.

“A good memory is one that can remember the
Yesterday I was asked into the studio of BBC Radio Lincolnshire, to comment on the UK's 2011 census, in which one question asked was ‘How is your health in general?’ In the East Midlands the results were as follows:
"General Health in England and Wales, 2011 and Comparison with 2001" compares 326 local authority areas. The worst ten include:
· East Lindsey (worst in the country with 73.5% reporting good health)
· Bolsover (4th worst with 74.3% reporting "good health")
· Mansfield (9th worst with 75.8% reporting good health).
This compares with 88.1% in good health in the "best" local authority area, Hart.
Now of course demographics play a part, with a higher number of older people living in East Lindsey than there are in Hart. But is there something more at play I wondered?
How much do your thoughts affect your health?
In Dr David Hamilton's blog 5 Ways that Positivity and Happiness can Protect you from Illness and even help you Live Longer we can see without any doubt that positive thinking has a direct impact on our health and well-being. This I can also corroborate, from not only my own personal experience, but also from my as a therapist who has for many years specialised in the areas of stress, anxiety and depression. When clients shift their thoughts even a small amount towards a more postive viewpoint their health also improves.
Dr Hamilton make's the following point:
3) Counting blessings improves happiness
This is backed up by a comprehensive study.
So I urge you ( along with those living in the low scoring districts of the East Midlands) to take a moment each day to count your blessings and not your worries.
It's all too easy at the end of the day to lay in bed at night, just before drifting into what you hope to be a peaceful slumber, with your thoughts running over and over your worries.
In this extract from WebMD we can see that worrying, has no positive effect on solving issues, but does have a detrimental effect on our daily lives:
"Worrying is feeling uneasy or being overly concerned about a situation or problem. With excessive worrying, your mind and body go into overdrive as you constantly focus on "what might happen."
Not only this, our subconscious mind cannot distiguish between fact or fiction, so when we run through our script of all the things that can go wrong, it stores this information as real.... and then you wonder why you wake in the night, in a cold sweat from a nightmare?
How about thinking about just how great things are and will be?
How about as you lay in bed tonight, just before drifting into that peaceful slumber, your recall all of the blessings from the day?
Tonight I urge you to count your blessings, name them one by one and say thank you!
When we show gratitude for the blessings in our life do you know what happens?
We notice more and more blessings to be grateful for.
Imagine what that will do for your health and wellbeing?
Here's another to tip. For anyone who's been to one of my talks recently, you may have heard me say "A hug a day , keeps the doctor away!"
Lots of us take our mental and physical health seriously and we try to improve our daily lives with exercise, a good diet, even supplements. But theres one simple treatment that is often over-looked and its been shown through scientific studies to be an effective way to keep our heart and mental health on target.
The power of the simple hug.
In fact, studies show that folks who are regularly hugged by their close friends and family have reduced heart rates, lower blood pressure, increased nerve activity and more upbeat moods. A survey of successful marriages even showed that hugging and touching (not sexual intercourse), were the key factors in keeping the relationship long-lasting.
Plus, a loving hug in the morning, researchers say, can keep you buoyant throughout the day. Just a brief hug or 10 minutes of handholding with a romantic partner greatly reduces the harmful physical effects of stress. Loving contact before a tough day at work "could carry over and protect you throughout the day," says psychologist Karen Grewen with the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill who conducted the study.

A cheerful frame of mind, reinforced by relaxation... is the
Well the Christmas decorations are packed away for another year. The festivities of the season already seem a distant memory. I was thrust back into work mode very early this year,as on the 2nd of January I was straight into a residential training course, 2013 is well underway. If you've managed to make the holidays last just that little bit longer, no doubt the children going back to school tomorrow will mark the end of the holidays and a return to normality for most.
I was considering this earlier, as tomorrow morning I'll be speaking to Scott Dalton on BBC radio Lincolnshire's breakfast show on the topic of "Reasons to be cheerful". As we face Monday morning at the start of the second week in January, it could be very easy to feel those Monday morning blues after the excitement of the past couple of weeks or so.
If you notice yourself having Monday morning blues tomorrow I'd urge you to consider this;
Firstly, check your pulse...... if your heart is still beating and you're still breathing, Wow, you get another new day full of gorgeous, juicy moments to discover.... now, that's certainly got to be a reason to be cheerful - if you consider the alternative!
Secondly, you are at the start of a brand, spanking new year - a bit like the blank new page in your new exercise book, when you were at school as a small child. I don't know about you, but I loved that fresh new start, a brand new clean slate on which to make my mark.
Besides who says that joy, goodwill, celebration and sharing are exclusive to Christmas?
What aspect of the holiday season do you really love?
Spending time with family and friends?
Eating great food and gathering around the table with those you care about?
Having fun and playing games?
Giving and receiving gifts?
Hang on a minute........ You can do these things any day of the year!
What stops you?
For some, the whole festive period can be stressful, even difficult... so a return to normality ( whatever that is?) is a point to be celebrated in itself.
In fact every day is an opportunity for miraculous manifestations of magic.The magic doesn't end when Father Christmas arrives back at the North Pole and puts his feet up.
The other thing I absolutely love to do this time of year is imagine all the infinite juicy possibilities that 2013 holds. This is the perfect time to create a vision board, a wishes/ memory jar or an abundance bowl.( you can read more about abundance bowls and universal cheques in the Manifesting magical abundance group on facebook)

In order for dreams and desires to inspire you to action and achievement,
they need to be big. If you don't get excited about what you have planned you
will never find the inspiration you need to change your life .Powerful dreams
can move the soul, and when you dream the big dream, you will be driven to make
the compelling picture a tangible reality.
Vision boards are very powerful tools when used in conjunction with the law
of attraction.The law of attraction states, that which is like unto itself is
drawn. You will draw towards you what you feel worthy of, no more and no less.
What that means is if you are maintaining an emotional vibration that matches
what you are wanting; more things will come your way to make you feel that
It is really important when creating a vision board that you not only create
it, but use it. A vision board is a tool to help you create a matching vibration
to what it is you want to have/be or do in your life and in your world.
You don't want to just look at the pictures on your vision board, you want to
take a minute and FEEL IT. Yes, feel what itwould feel like if those pictures on
your vision board were actually part of your life.If you want to be an amazing
business owner, think about how you will feel like to be that person. How would
you feel walking and moving through the world, how would you hold yourself, what
would you be doing? Saying? How would you be different as that person? What would
you be grateful for? All of this FEELING is what makes a vision board really
It only takes 17 consecutive seconds of feeling an emotional
vibration to bring it into reality.
In order to consider all areas of your life it's useful to give intention and
energy to each aspect, a great way of doing this is to use the feng shui bagua
map. Using this method focusses your intent on every area of your life, also the
areas where you maybe find you find it more challenging to work on, or which
you leave until last, are sometimes the areas that may be holding you back, or
where you maybe hold limiting belief patterns, with this awareness you can focus
postive energy and intent into these area too... creating a flow of

Create a jar of wishes and a jar of memories
I came across this lovely idea when it was posted in the Manifesting magical abundance for all group on facebook.It's so simple, and can be created by yourself, with your partner or the whole family. All you need is a jar a pen and some paper. You can capture your wishes for 2013 in one jar and your magical moments in another ( or they can all go into one jar if you prefer) keep on popping in your wishes and your magical moments as they happen,save them up and then on New Years eve this year you can open the jar and read through the messages.... see which of your wishes have come true and recall all of the magic moments you have had throughout the year.
