Now we all talk to ourselves, it's a natural human trait. I certainly do. But here's the thing.... What does it sound like that inner voice? Is yours kind, loving, supportive... your biggest fan? your cheerleader? OR is yours the kind of inner critic I like to call THE GREMLIN? Hmmm... good question hey? Well the best way to tell is to listen to the words yours is using.... Are there words such as... You can, You're good enough, Go for it, I've got your back..... OR can you hear... Don't be stupid, you can't, you're not good enough, who do you think you are? you're going to make a fool of your self. Let's hazard a guess, if you had to say which shows up more, I'm going to bet it's your inner critic... that nagging little Gremlin... am I right? In this instance to really want to be proved wrong. However, in my experience we all give way to that inner critic from time to time, that doubting Thomas that stops us really fulfilling our true potential. This little blog is a subject matter I often talk about in my talks.....I wonder... just how long have you given head space to that little critter? I hope you're charging it a good rent, because I can't think of any other positive reason to give it any head space for so long, can you? Maybe it's time to give your inner critic the heave -ho .... lets call it an eviction from the big brother house that is your head. It's 3.44pm in the big brother house and the inner critic is being evicted.... How about imagining that little critter as a cartoon character and giving it a name... you can see it now can't you? When you look at it now... well it just looks kinda funny really, that cartoon character with that silly name. Well its time that little fella ( or gal) took a long, long holiday. After all its never had a holiday has it? not for any length of time..... that's a long time to go without having a break in my opinion.... So in truth your doing it a favour... giving it a gift no less... You're so generous after all ! That's it you can see it, bags packed, little passport in hand, waving as it takes its little sabbatical to go aggravate, berate, niggle, doubt and moan to itself to its little hearts content. As we know, when a key member of the team ( no matter how detrimental they are) is off on a break, we have to get in a replacement, a bit like getting a substitute teacher ( a good one) to cover the class... after all life is one big humongous class room and every day we're on this Earth is a school day. So guess who's coming to cover? YOUR BIGGEST FAN! Oh how exciting, your biggest fan is well.... just like a cheerleader, they'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, high fiving you at every opportunity ... I know you're picturing them right now aren't you? Take a good look at them, maybe they represent someone you admire, or someone you know, or perhaps some super hero... after all they are a part of you and we absolutely know YOU ARE A SUPER HERO! (Enter soundtrack to Wonder woman or Super man right here) I wonder how is your life different now that your biggest fan is in residence? What will you be, do and have now that you no longer have that little gremlin that you used to shack up in your loft space? Wow... the World's your lobster my friend! Anything is possible now, 'cause your biggest fan is the teacher and well that's going to make one heck of a difference. Just think of all the CANS....... No... not that sort of cans..... I mean CANS instead of CAN'TS ! As we know success comes in cans...... not can'ts. I urge you to take a moment now and consider the language your biggest fan is using. What pictures are you making in your head? Imagine the possibilities, they're limitless... the future is bright the future is ...... Oops in my excitement I got carried away there with word association.. of course other mobile networks are available :) Although I could talk here about the health benefits of vitamin C... of which there are many... but we'll talk about that in a later blog..... Seriously, your vision of the future will be so much brighter with your biggest fan in the CEO post. Life is about to get loved up, miraculous and a whole lot more positive without the neg head, energy drain that was your inner gremlin. Oh, and if it should try to return... He/ she who shall not be names... like a very undesirable character from Harry Potter... just remind it... YOU'RE ON HOLIDAY! MY BIGGEST FAN HAS EVERYTHING COVERED !!!!!! And then give yourself a big hug... be sure to keep it going for 20 seconds so all those juicy feel good vibes dance around your body ! Until next time,
Make every moment count, Lisa xxx

Following on from my blog about going back to my roots and also the wonderful weekend I've just spent at Newark BSSK , I'm launching the monthly gathering group, beginning in October. Over the weekend I met so many people who were mirroring my "Going back to my roots" , each of them saying it's the first time I've been to a mind, body and spirit show in years, I just felt like I wanted to come back. This coupled with a conversation I had with a fellow stand holder Phil Bowler, where he mentioned an aspect of my own astrological chart along with the words " Your roots" has sparked a new- but old idea! Let me explain... Many years ago whilst I was still running Calma, myself along with others would hold a fortnightly spiritual group and a fortnightly meditation group. Both groups were always a wonderful gathering of like minded folk. Providing a place to connect and share knowledge and support personal growth, support and balance. After listening to so many people seemingly returning to their roots, along with the other key theme of the weekend, endings and new beginnings I had the spark of an idea to yet again go back to my roots.... but also start something new.I felt I wanted to capture the essence of those old groups but give them new life. So I'm absolutely delighted to announce the birth of "The monthly gathering group". You may also recall that myself and my soul sister and astrologer extraordinaire Lisa Gates held a very special gathering last December to mark the 21.12.12. It was the most wonderful day connecting such wonderful loving souls. Thinking about the energy of that day and the words "The Gathering" I loved the energy of the "Gathering" word, as it really does capture the intent of a space in which to gather and share. So my idea has sparked the new monthly gathering group, I hope that you will join me in connecting with like minded folk for what I hope will become a beautiful community. So the first monthly gathering group will be held on Thursday 10th October here at Holly House in Lincolnshire ( near to Newark) . Booking will be essential as there is only so much space! Of course if there is a big demand I will need to secure a bigger venue! It will run from 6.30pm - 8.30pm and will be priced at just £20 ( includes refreshments) Or if you want to subscribe to the group ( T's and C's apply) you can subscribe for £15 per month. There will also be a Monthly gathering group private facebook forum for those that wish to keep in touch in between meetings. I hope to be welcoming you soon to the monthly gathering group. Lisa x
I wonder...... how do I show up when I'm having a good day? Well as I have lots of sunny Yellow energy I'm guessing that I might appear enthusiastic, possibly I might become more creative, I share my optimism with the World and embrace the very best of my pure glowing yellowness! If my Green energy is showing up ( which it generally does too ) you'll see me as calm and considerate perhaps? Mmmm.... so what happens when I'm having a bad day? Good question! Well I'll probably be a bit unorganised, I may come across as a bit loud and careless, or you may think me stubborn or totally withdrawn. Isn't it interesting the difference a day makes? Of course we always have a choice how we show up, how we choose our attitude in a morning when we get out of bed! There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative. W. Clement Stone As you know I've been working with colour in different guises for a very long time now, and more recently with colour personality profiling. I find it fascinating how your colour energy can shift and move in time with your mood. Take a look at the picture above... Do you recognise yourself on a good day and a bad day? What about those around you? It does make you recognise the signs that your loved one may be getting stressed, or even you may recognise that you're not only having a bad day, but that your stress levels may need a bit of attention. Sometimes all that's needed is an acknowledgement, and you can shift your energy back to having a good day. But if the bad day feeling is lingering then what can you do? Well depending on your personal colour energies, there may be different answers to the question. But I'd urge you to think or feel your way into what brings you back to you. It may be going out dancing, or sitting quietly with a good book, having a massage or some reflexology ( I can help with that!) it may be walking out in nature or hitting the treadmill.Whatever is right for you and your colour energy! But what happens when a bad few days turns into full on stress? What happens to our energy then? Well this is where it get really interesting! As an example, take my predominant energy of Yellow, when under extreme stress I may tip into the opposite colour energy of Blue ( not that there's anything wrong with blue of course) but the bad day blue of a bright sunny yellow isn't an energy to be savoured. Or my strong green energy can flip into the extremely bad day of hell fire type red energy. ( I'd stand well back should that ever happen) Take a look at the picture and see if you can recognise your own energy patterns, What's your best day and how do you show up, and then what's your worst. If you can become aware of how your energy is showing up, if its less than best you can do something about it! What about those around you, notice anything? If you notice that your partner is dipping into their own 'bad day' energy, maybe you can help shift them back to their best day, just by realising that their energy is off kilter, rather than reacting to their lower energy? Its such a useful tool when you look at it, don't you think? So today I'd urge you to have your best day, shine your colours bright upon the World, and if you're day thus far, is a little dull or grey then perhaps you can sit quietly for a moment now and bring back your balance by focussing your intent on the four elements... The Four Element 5 minute Meditation Earth: THE FIRST ELEMENT… Notice your feet on the ground. Press your feet on the ground back and forth slowly. Notice how the ground supports your feet……… Press your back into the chair………. Notice how the chair supports you. Air: THE SECOND ELEMENT……..Breath….. Take a deep belly breath…One hand on your belly….One hand on your chest……breathe into your belly…..for the count of four…….and out slowly for the count of four…..notice how your hand rises on your belly as you breath in…… Water: THE THIRD ELEMENT…….Water is the saliva in our mouth…we can feel it when we are relaxed…..it dries up when we are tense ……..imagine water flowing into your mouth and feel the saliva filing your mouth Fire: Lighting up our imagination. Going to your safe place in your mind. Notice what you see and feel. Notice what you hear and smell. Allow yourself to stay in this place for a few moments. Until next time, Make every moment count, Lisa xxx How many times do you find yourself listening to someone in conversation and either forming your own response in your head before they've even had a chance to finish speaking, or allowed your mind to wander off elsewhere, not being present at all? How many times have you come across someone in your life or work that simply doesn't seem to understand you, or in fact be wired the same way when it comes to communication? Well don't give yourself a hard time if you answered yes to any of these questions, it's highly likely that most people reading this blog will, at some point have fallen into the trap of allowing their mind to take over, whist they could be truly present in their connection with another soul or not been able to quite understand another's way of being, feeling it's alien to themselves. The colourful art of communication can be challenging on many levels, you may well agree. I'm sure each of us can recall a time when we have been misunderstood or misconstrued. Are we all so very different? Thankfully yes, we are all beautifully unique. We may share similarities with others, but we also have our differences and it is this that makes for the colourful palette of life. It is in the contrast that the true beauty is revealed. Without this contrast there would be no sharing of opposing views, no debate and no growth. Imagine the great artists in history, how would they have created their masterpieces without the gift of contrast? I'd like you to consider, what energy do you bring? We all bring different energy to life ; some of us are more extroverted , whilst others are more introverted, some use our five senses, more than our sixth sense of intuition, some of us live from the heart, whilst others from their head. Is it any wonder then; that at times, communication can be like a mass of tangled and crossed wires? How can we decipher the mixed messages and crack the code, if it is so very complicated and convoluted? Thankfully, there is an answer. Based on the work of ancient philosophers and the more recent teachings of Carl Jung; we can in fact start to break down the barriers to meaningful interactions with our fellow travellers on this journey of life. We can unlock the colour code of life. We can do this by understanding that we all show up with different energy, shown in the personification of the four elements; Fire, Air, Earth and Water and their associated colours: Red, Yellow, Green and Blue. Taking this a step further if we consider each of the elements, let's take for example, the element of Fire and the colour of red, a person who shows up with a high level of this energy may be well be focused, forceful, direct, challenging, dominant and action oriented. They're more likely to coming from their head rather than their heart and have a tendency towards extroversion. With this in mind, if a person showing a lot of red energy is in communication with a person who shows a lot of green energy; that is to say, of the Earth element, empathetic, concerned, informal, supportive, patient and easy-going, very much coming from their heart and from a place of introversion. It may not be a surprise if the colour mix leads to different points of view at best and misunderstanding and frustration at worst. In reality of course we can all have a mix of the colour energies. Some stronger than others of course, but we all have the ability, and at times the necessity to "turn up" our energy in areas where we wouldn't naturally be as comfortable. By having a greater understanding of the colourful art of communication, we can learn and develop our colour energies, in order that we can have more meaningful connections with those different from ourselves. Consider now; if you would, how someone with high Yellow energy might appear if
you were to meet them? How might they be dressed, what words and language might they use? The image of the sunshine yellow may well give us some clues. These bright energetic beings will be the most talkative, expressive and flamboyant in the room. They will be the light shining at the centre of the room. How might that differ from someone with a lot of Blue energy? I'm sure you can start to see the interesting and exciting opportunities we all have to recognise the differences, the contrasts and where we can blend those beautiful colours into something amazing, a work of art, and a masterpiece. The full spectrum of colours is what makes the picture so very interesting, wouldn't you agree? So the next time you find yourself challenged by the colourful art of communication, consider this: What colour energy am I showing up with? What's the energy of the person I'm communicating with? How can we better blend this colour palette to create something beautiful, meaningful and gain greater growth and understanding? Until next time, enjoy the colourful converstaions you have with everyone you meet, and most importantly, make every moment count! Lisa x |
