May 2021 storytelling - Run for home And from the universal comms team we have the song of the same name by Lindisfarne "Run for home" Looking at the lyrics these are the phrases that stand out to me:
I've seen all the frowns On the faces of the clowns ( perhaps suggesting that even the most optimistic among us have carried frowns recently) And the downs that they take just to be free ( maybe the lock "downs" that we have endured in order to be "Free") Just to stare at each other ( to see each others faces without restriction perhaps?) I've looned with them screamed at the moon ( maybe reflecting on the "Lunacy" of our World situation) For centuries, people have believed that the Moon affects human behaviour. The word lunacy derives from the Latin meaning “moonstruck”, and both the Greek philosopher Aristotle and the Roman naturalist Pliny the Elder believed that madness was caused by the Moon! Maybe the pink super full moon, we're experiencing as I write this on the 27th April is enhancing this energy. So let's see what our cards share for the month ahead. First out is 12. The Hanged Man. The hanged man is akin to the mythical figure Odin, the Norse god who hung from the World Tree for 9 days to earn the knowledge of the Runes. ( we can see the Runes below our figure in the card as she reaches out toward them). 9 of course is significant in this context, as it is the number of The Hermit, the archetype of introspection, meditation, Self-reflection, Solitude, Soul-searching and withdrawal from society Odin embodies the search for knowledge, carrying out his quest without moving, at least in the physical sense. The true quest The Hanged Man represents is seeking within, not without. It is a card of surrender and handing over to the universe, or as the phrase goes " Let go and let God". When we add the 1 and the 2 of The Hanged Man we get 3 The Empress - The Mother, belly full with newness to be birthed into the World, If we were to place The Empress above The Hanged Man, we would see that it looks like the umbilical chord suspending the Hanged Man, ready to be born into enlightenment. This birthing process of course cannot be rushed , all we can do is surrender to the flow and divine timing. It also brings to mind a paradigm shift, a transformation in consciousness or a spiritual awakening where we can feel, sense, or know our God/ Source/ Universe (or whatever term we may connect with) and the divine energy which is flowing freely through us. We see a lot of green hues in this card, bringing us back into alignment with the truth of our heart. I'm especially drawn to the lime green of the girl's trousers, Spiritually, the colour lime green is associated with creative inspiration and gives us the go-ahead to start anew, to create something new. Our next card out is 10 The Wheel. A beautiful seamless link from our first card, with the beautiful chaos of creation held within this card. A turning point has been reached, a surrendering of what is and what will be. This is a card of beautiful synchronicities, fate, positive change and the ever continuing cycles of our experience.... destiny if you like. It's as though this story were already written in the stars and galaxies way before we were but a dream. In the number 10 we have both the wonderment of 0 The Fool, with a new adventure unfolding and an unwavering faith in the future and the 1 of the Magician, who already has all of the elements required to make the transformation. Spiritually the number 10 means that we are being asked to create our own reality, following our beliefs and our intuition. The number 10 asks for our leadership, determination, confidence and independence. Our final card for May is the Knight of Swords. Swords representing the air element, of the mind, intellect and our thoughts. And just look at our knight, determined focused, and running towards success. He is gathering momentum, his swift action is on time and on purpose. Interestingly I notice the binary code of the soles of his running shoes - 0 and 1, those numbers appearing again, to continue the thread of this month's story. We may also recall the binary code of 1's and 0's from The Matrix film, The plot of the film is about an unreal, holographic, world wherein there are millions of slaves, performing a role in the society, such as doctors, teachers, lawyers, politicians etc. They all carry on, fueling the very system that enslaves them, yet they are unaware of the truth because their “minds” are essentially still plugged into what is called the “machine.” The motorcycle depicted in our card represents speed, or the need for speed, actions, efforts, success, achievements and freedom. Summary: * Letting go and surrendering to the birthing of the new * Destiny, fate and a positive future awaits * Taking speedy action, showing determination and focused leadership * A strive for freedom
