When asking for inspiration for today's blog I pulled two cards from my card deck ("The answer is simple" oracle cards from Sonia Choquette) The first card that came out was "Talk to God" and the second was "Stick with it"...... and then I pondered for a moment as to what these cards held in store for my blog today. Both cards brought to mind the power of going within to find higher guidance, but also in contrast they gave me the feeling of vast opportunity and infinite possibility. Sometimes we can feel so small and insignificant when faced with the vastness of possiblity. Sometimes the journey stretching out infront of us may feel like a never ending trek or a mountainous climb. But in the wise words of Lao Tzu ..... A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving. If you've attended any of my workshops or are a regular reader of my blog, you will have no doubt heard me say on many occassions to enjoy the scenery along the way. But what about the times that the journey seems arduous, when you become tired, and your motivation to keep on going is lacking? Well thats just the time to really take a good look around at the scenery and your fellow travellers.....Maybe you're where you are to lend a hand to another traveller? Maybe they're reaching out to you?......... It's not always obvious at the time, the route may be hard and the terrain unforgiving, but there will be a gift and a beautiful lesson to behold.Always. It may just be that you need to look back...... just a little, to see from where and how far you've come. At times like this you may feel tiny in comparison to the surrounding vista you find yourself surveying, but you are where you are for a reason, maybe you just need to stop toiling and efforting for a moment, take a little respite, take a deep breath and go within............ What are you learning through this part of your journey? What is your in built emotional Sat Nav telling you? Are you being guided by your heart and your truth, or your ego and your head? It's not an emergency, there's no panic or crisis.... (unless you order it to be so)..... it's just your chance to STOP and reflect, before moving forwards. “To get through the hardest journey we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping" Chinese proverb Another thing that can happen at this juncture is that we notice others along the road who seem to be ahead of us, we may feel like we're lagging behind, or living in lack. This simply isn't the case ..... we can never know someone elses journey, we may walk alongside, infront or behind them, but their path is their path, and ours is unique to us! So, I urge you not to compare your journey to anyone elses, afterall their own moutain or deep ravine may be just ahead of them! “The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.” Don Williams Jr Once you have taken the time to reset your inner compass, checked your direction and started to follow your own true North, you can then once again rise and shine, setting off anew on the the road of life. Refreshed, refocussed and with the knowledge that you have taken the gift from your own perceived mountain or rugged course. “Let your mind start a journey thru a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be...Close your eyes let your spirit start to soar, and you'll live as you've never lived before.” Erich Fromm May your onward journey be filled with beautiful horizons! Until next time, make every moment count! Lisa xx
